Do these look okay if you wear only a tie and shirt without a sports coat?

Would these work for boys ties? My son is a size 14 in dress shirts and am not sure if the button holes are spaced the same as men's shirts.

First of all, these things are great. They solve many issues with wearing a tie and are virtually invisible. I am not sure but would assume the button spacing between mens and boys would be different. They are made of a significant material but would be easily modified with scissors.
