Still a great purchase in 2019.
Until the Pixel 4 comes out this is the best you can get from a software perspective on an Android phone. The experience is, simply put exquisite. Getting in the developer's settings and cutting animation times in half makes the phone feel a snappier than it was, memory management has gotten better and bugs have faded away with time and constant updates from a manufacturer that hears feedback and improves quickly a product, allowing it to reach maximum potential. As for hardware this phone feels amazing in the hand, the texture of the "frosted" glass section of the back panel feels like nothing else I've touched in a phone, and te screen is a better iteration than the previos generation, clear colors and decently bright. The notch is big and its shaped oddly, but your eyes get used to it so quickly tat it fades away in the background.Overall the phone is fantastic and should be highly rated on anyone's Android phones to buy.

Fantastic phone, meh battery
Seriously impressed with the Pixel 3 xl so far. I had a Huawei mate 10 pro before this and due to that company being shut out of any new Android development it was time to switch to something supported.Pros: Great screen, awesome sound, snappy, really nice haptic feedback, fantastic phone features like call screening and live transcripts, and the camera is solid. Really loving the portrait and night sight.Cons: Battery life is a solid meh. For such a large phone I would've liked to see anything over 4,000mAh. At least charging is fast.Verdict: Would recommend phone, but keep charger in pocket.

Still an awesome phone
The tech may be 3 years old, but this is still an awesome phone. Too bad Google no longer supports it -- that's the only reason I probably won't keep it another year. Aside from that, battery life is great, the camera is phenomenal, and the phone is fast and fully functional in 2022. What a shame that a lack of Google support turns good products into landfill filler.

Ugly Phone With Great Features.
No doubt it is the best camera, for now. The fingerprint scanner is the best outperforming my Samsung S10 Plus and my Huawei mate 20 Pro. It only takes a few minutes to set up and go.What I don't like 1. I cant use my Nova launchers it makes it impossible so I use the google one included. 2. 80% of the back is made of gorilla glass just like the front transmits the signal better but is you drop it to trash it, put a good protective cover. 3. The headphone adapter is crappy gets loose easy don't sound all that. 4. the top middle notch is the ugliest of all cell phones its huge. 5. The call screening is bogus you can Google it, false advertising not as discribed I had more spam calls than ever, that's why I sent it back. But for the price, it's good, not worth any more money the looks are unimpresive they need to change the old outdated looks.

Overall it is not too bad, but a lot of annoying issues.
I bought Pixel 3 XL in early February. Overall I like it because the screen is pretty large, but.... is you need to use speaker - the sound had a lot of "cracking" noise - annoying. Fingerprint security 70% of the time does not recognize my fingerprint - annoying. We have 2 routers at home and no cell coverage inside, phone does not connect to the closest router - annoying. Camera is not as good as in my previous Pixel 1 xl or Samsung 7 - often is not focusing on the object even if I choose the point of focus and resolution is low on HR setting - very annoying. And Google gives unlimited storage only for 1 year - very annoying too. Why to give it at all free?
