Otsuka Calorie Mate Balanced Food Fruit 2.82oz/80g (4pack)

I’ve been craving this for over 10 years since left Japan. Much milder taste than American vitamin/protein bars with real fruits in it. It is like really expensive shortbread cookies. Fruits flavor has a little bitter (like grapefruits) after taste and some may hate that but cheese and chocolate are always popular so if you are trying for the first time, I’d recommend them. I personally like this tingly sensation though (I’m a huge grapefruits lover).

We are going outside in on this review.The outside box fits two packs of two bars.Inside the box we have two sets of well packaged bars. You can easily tear the packaging without fear of crumbling the bars.The bars inside, are questionable with this “fruit” flavor. It’s like they peeled citrus fruits and used only the rinds for the flavoring. Really smart if it’s designed to make you not down a whole box or 5 in one sitting. Really strange since it’s so bitter and not much in the way of fruit.It goes well with tea or a pocari. And overall the product keeps you running without filling you up too much.I normally start my day with breakfast, lunch some 6 hours later, which is no these bars in place of if I don’t have time, then dinner.Either I’m thinking it does the trick or it holds me over quite well.In short, try a different flavor at your own discretion. I don’t think it wise to eat too many in one sitting.

The value of the larger packs of 8 or 10 are superb, and I love the contrasting flavors in the Fruits bars; the shortbread is sweet but there is an added hint of grapefruit rinse that has a delightful aroma and a perfect bitterness that complements tea very well. Highly recommend.

I like the product and find it to be effective. The texture and taste are interesting with a subtle aftertaste. The expiration date is seven months from my purchase which I find off putting. Overall though not happy about the expiration date, I would definitely purchase again.

I bought some when I was looking for a snack and thinking of Metal Gear Solid. Sadly I don't like Grapefruit but this is still a good snack.

Tastes good. Need to have a drink on hand because it dries up your mouth real bad. Was a nice prop for my Metal Gear Sold 3 stream.

The “bitter aftertaste” is really so mild that its barely noticeable. Many other popular health bars have far worse aftertaste.I would describe these as light and pleasant. Tastes like a shortbread cookie with hint of lemon. Also Snake eats them, which makes them that much cooler.

I sought out this product because Metal Gear Solid 3, and figured that if it was good enough for Big Boss is can't be too bad.The packaging was neat and the "food bars" inside were a great texture. I mostly got a lemony kind of flavor from it, but I also experienced a bitter after taste after. After the first couple of bites though it wasn't as noticeable.As far as fullness and satiety, I was impressed. Normaly I go about 6 to 8 hours between meals due to my work schedule and sometimes experience weakness an hour or more before my next meal along with hunger pangs, today was different after eating one of the packs. I didn't feel overwhelmingly full but I felt sustained and had no crash. I'm ordering more to experiment further with it.

The package looks just like I imagined in MGS3. As for the product inside it contains two packets of Calorie Mate, each pack has two blocks in total of four Calorie Mates. It looks like a rectangular biscuit, feels solid soft that I can crack easily as well not crumble in my hand, and smells artificial lemonFinally the taste; It's just a normal lemon biscuit flavor, it is not that special. Weird aftertaste though.

店頭販売は勿論、販売元の通販でも手に入らなくなっておりましたのに、Amazonでは直ぐ手に入ります。翌日、届けて貰えます！その代わり、店頭販売の倍の値段ですね！高い買い物になりますけれども、とうしても欲しいから仕方ないです。

フルーツは食べやすい味で、気に入っています。非常食としても、備蓄しています。食べると、歯にくっつくのと飲み物がないとちょっとキツイかなと思ったので、☆４にしました！
