Mary Berry's Complete Cookbook Hardcover – 17 Mar. 2003

I like this book as it covers everything you need for an easy, stressless recipe that works first time. Good for buying easily available ingredients that are affordable. Instructions easy to follow and tips handy to know. However, I find that this book has been updated several times and that I have them all!! All because I am a huge fan of reliable Mary Berry!!

My daughter threw out an old copy of this book when she was moving and had hardly any room in a new flat. Rather than take it to the charity shop, I decided to have a look at it and it quickly became my favourite. I am ashamed to say (but only just ashamed) that when I saw an updated version out, I asked my wife for it for Christmas. Wow, even better! Many old favourites are still there (important) but also new dishes that reflect new eating styles and tastes. I have given the old one away and am now using the new one!This book is really, really good. Every recipe has a photo, which I particularly value. Although the recipes range from the simple to the fairly sophisticated, they are all very easy to follow which suggests great care in putting the book together. There is an excellent overview at the start of each chapter which shows all the recipes in that chapter with a thumbnail photo, but grouped according to how long they take to prepare. So, you only have 30 minutes? Here are dishes you can do. There are also some pages with clear general instruction, such as how to joint a chicken.I cannot praise this book enough. I have a range of cook books which are all good and which I value, but this one stands out. The proof of the pudding - guests are really impressed with the meals! Try the 'magic lemon pudding'. It's easy, impressive and delicious. Mary Berry suggests cooking it with the dish in a tray of water in the oven (Bain Marie) but I've found it works nearly as well without the Bain Marie making it even easier.Nick

This is the best recipe book I've ever had. Full of wonderful pictures and excellent recipies.

Got it for mt sister who is starting out in the kitchen and it's many lessons have her showing great progress. A good read

It is an old book, but was a good price, and the condition was near perfect. Very pleased. Tried twice to order a new one from W.H Smith, but both times waited and waited, but it never arrived, so had to get refund. The book arrived early, and is great.

Ive always been a fan of Mary Berry's and Ive got a few of her recipe books. She is always a calming influence when seen on TV shows and it comes across in her recipe books. Everything put simply and explained, all there in pictures, so that you cant go wrong.I bought this book for myself, the colour illustrations are beautiful, all very tempting and Ive had 100% perfect results so far. I intend buying this book for a friend's birthday present and also for my daughter, she was really impressed by it and she has a cupboard full of cookery books.....well they looked nice in the shop did'nt they? This is a real cooks book for everyday and special occasions. Fantastic.

This is a beautifully presented cookbook which deserves a place in everyone's bookshelf. It is a delight to read and savour the illustrations firstly and having chosen one's recipe, to put it to the test, The instructions are accurate and simple to follow and success is ensured. I am so pleased I purchased this book!

E una super Bibbia onnicomprensiva, tipo l'Ada Boni ma con foto e tempi. Mi sono sentita un po sovrastata . Ma se cercate una miniera di risorse, e non avete paura di sperimentare, eccola qui e a buon prezzo. NB tutto quello che ho fatto finora ( senza dire da dove preso) e stato graditissimo a sofisticati e/o esigenti palati italiani .

absolutely the best cookbook ever/mary berry reminds me of my mom not only in her demeanor on the BBC show but in her words on page,gracious and kind never condesending; just a gracious southern lady and that is the highest praise indeed!
