Excellent and high quality.
This hoover has been worth every penny. Itโs really powerful, pulls the carpet up so itโs left looking like new. It picks up all dirt, whilst slightly heavy, itโs easy to manoeuvre, wire is sturdy and strong. Itโs great forwards and back, against edges and the smart detect is so clever. Highly recommend and an excellent purchase.

Great Vacuum, quality makes it worth the price
Absolutely brilliant vacuum cleaner, really easy to set up out of the box and works an absolute treat. Double the price of the most expensive one we've had but works 10 times better, although heavier, feels very well made, it is easier to use, seems to glide when pushing back and forth. Picks up all bits with minimal times going over and the ball movement makes head so easy to manouver. Not expensive for the increased quality, if you buy cheap, you buy more than twice. I'll maintain this one properly and feel I'll get a long time usage from it, time will tell but looking very likely.

Great vacuum cleaner but has an unfortunate weak spot
This is a great vacuum cleaner. It is powerful and the performance is really good. Itโs not the lightest so check the weight if thatโs a concern. The only problem is the power cord. It is brittle and mine cracked and then split from wrapping it around the holder. The cord on my previous Shark was absolutely fine over many years of use. Very puzzling as to why Shark have compromised a good product by using a poor quality cord.

Best hoover ever
What a hoover!!! Bought this in the prime deals as our old Shark hoover wasn't doing well anymore. What made me go for this one was the fact it sucks dirt up forwards and backwards. I was under the assumption all hoovers do this but apparently not after researching. It came in one box, and you need to take everything out to see what you have before assembling. Instructions are very straightforward. Assembled well and did it by myself in a matter of minutes. Lots of information with the box about the different power modes and cleaning instructions. The handle has the on/off switch and also digital buttons for different modes (low pile, hard floor, auto detect etc) The auto detect is brilliant. If there is a purple light this means that there is still dirt under the hoover and you need to hoover slowly over it to suck it up until the light turns white. The amount of dirt this sucks up is incredible!! On a floor I thought was clean, it brings up more dust from in between the fibres. When the light changes from purple to white and vice versa you can hear and feel the power change. It is quite heavy, but with the power it comes with, I am not surprised! It is also very loud. When you first turn it on, it is almost as of it hoovers by itself. The vibrations set it going and you need to hold on. It is also very easy to dispose of the dirt in the canister. Press of a button and you carry it away to the bin and then another button to open the flap to dispose. Haven't yet needed to clean the filter so cannot comment on this part. Using the small attachments are also very good. Some brilliant tools for cleaning window blinds etc. Beware of the super suction though and perhaps put it onto a lower mode for this. Tip: when you start the hoover, you need to make the body of it click back from the roller part (like most hoovers), DO NOT let the roller part flop down. It is heavy and I reckon with constant flopping down it will damage it eventually. Instead click the body back from the bottom.

Not cheap but very effective
This beast is almost industrial in its ability to find dirt and hair. It is demonstrably superior to its predecessor and easy to weild on all surfaces. The added tools work well but I wish there was a better way of storing them on the machine - they have a tendency to fall off, particularly on the cable side. Not cheap, in comparison to other machine. Too early to say if it will last well but the Shark it is replacing gave me a decade before it died. It would still be going if I could get into the housing where the cable attaches but that is another story.

Very effective at cleaning, thoughtfully designed, and high-quality build
Shark claims this is "THE BEST OVERALL CLEANING OF ANY CORDED UPRIGHT VACUUM", and we have no reason to doubt that. It cleans carpets noticeably better than the Shark portable liftaway this is replacing, eradicating cat hair, and leaving the carpets looking professionally cleaned. Cons: this model is significantly heavier (at 7.5kg) than the portable liftaway, which can make manoeuvring in tight corners a bit of a struggle, and wouldn't want to carry it up and down stairs much. Also expensive, but we got a very attractive Prime Day deal. Pros: the powered head pulls the vacuum along effortlessly, and the overall mass is very well balanced on the wheels, so with a little practice it's little effort to move around when powered off. The powered head in liftaway mode cleans under beds and tables much better than any previous cleaner we've owned. The "additional attachments" include a duster and a powerful upholstery brush which is also excellent for carpet in tight corners. The design of the dirt canister is improved; emptying and cleaning are much easier than the predecessor. The power switch on the handle is a big improvement. Overall build quality is very good, with robust and thoughtful engineering.

Choose a different one!
A brilliant hoover, however it broke within 3 months - a known fault with the brush roll. I expect it's a fairly common fault as the replacement part it completely out of stock and you could be expected to wait 3-4 weeks without a hoover before they're able to replace it. The brush roll is fully encased, you can't access it at all, so if it breaks out of warranty you'd need to buy the part again. While I rate shark hoovers, the customer service is lacking and I definitely wouldn't choose this model again.

Shark az3900uktbk
Purchased the vacuum cleaner with prime for next day delivery. Was provided an ETA of before 14:00 next day. As day went on ETA was updated a couple of times and eventually arrived just after 17:00. Product arrived well packaged and was very easy to assemble. Immediately Registered with shark for warranty. Turned on and started cleaning a low pile carpet in low pile mode. Results were impressive, the suction was strong. Then tested in detect mode. It started well for first couple of minutes and then it started dragging forward as I continued to use it. This caused the affect of being easy to push forward and resistant as you call back. It carried on like this for 10 minutes and then went back to it was when first starting in this mode. A few minutes later the pulling started again, but this time it kept starting and stopping the pulling and the suction power kept fluctuating between strong and week suction. Turned off and back on and the vacuum started working correctly again. Then I tested the side detection. As I vacuumed next to a wall, the side arrow lights remained none luminated, meaning it was not detecting correctly.turned off and on again. Tested the side detectors again. This time arrow luminated as expected. Tried the other side and had the same result. Since then I have used it for a couple of hours and there have been no more issues. It seems like it needed to do some sort of calibration process before it was ready to use for the first time. Overall, since the initial strange behaviour stopped, the vacuum has been functioning as expected with very good results. I am very pleased with the product.
