keeps away squirrels
the reason i got this was to keep away the many many squirrels i have in my yard. and it does the trick!i have noticed a huge crow attempting to get at it, and also a grackle, but at least they are birds!

Not sure didn’t work for my birdies
My flocks didn’t flock to this… thought it was a great idea but unfortunately not a success for us

It lasts and the birds eat it (but my squirrels are dumb)
I'm amending an earlier review, as initially I had issues with dumb squirrels trying it, not liking it, apparently forgetting, and then trying it again. But then I had put up a couple regular suets before getting these, so it seems like it took them a little while to get the message and get it through their heads that the good stuff wasn't coming back!I do think they finally gave up, as these blocks are definitely lasting much longer than the non-chili suet. And I see birds on it every day. My local pair of downy woodpeckers seem to depend on it. Carolina wrens, nuthatches, and chickadees are all regulars too.I think wrapped in the package it might have a concentrated odor, as some of the birds avoid it for a few days after it is first hung up. But once "aired out" they all seem fine with it.Today the last morsel of one block dropped out of the holder onto the deck, and a cardinal and wren argued about who got to keep it. The cardinal won, but he never goes on the suet cage himself!

Our little red bird visits us several times a day to eat his suet. It’s so fun to watch him
We used it for the red bird that visits us daily!

Feed the birds
The squirrels have adapted to the hot pepper

Keeps the Critters Away
Attracts the birds but repels the animals. A bit pricey for just a little addition of cayenne but good for starters while I experiment with adding my own pepper.

A second review.. Please read
After leaving a negative review, the birds started enjoying the chili suet. We now have nuthatches and hairy woodpeckers on the suet. No explanation, but they like it now.
