Cedar Elements Aromatic Red Cedar Planking Closet Liner - Tougue and Groove (30 Square Feet (2PK))

The planks were not a choice grade, there were many that bowed immediately after unpacking and acclimation. Also, the tongues and grooves were poorly cut on several pieces. Despite considerable care, using a brad gun, many of the pieces would split upon nailing (even 3" back from edges). Would most likely look for an alternative product next time.

Ok, I'll start with the positive: The grain and finish of this wood first out of the box is quite impressive. And the 1/4-inch thick planks look really nice and the tiny tongue and groove fit together nicely. ...for the most part. And therein lies the biggest problem with this product. A full one-third of the boards were so badly warped as to be unusable. About 2 boards had bad cuts where router seemed to gouge out the ends of the boards. The remaining of the bad third were laterally warped - that is, when laid flat on a table, they were curved like a letter "C" so that the tongue and groove might only engage at the middle of the very ends. The deflection was a full 3/8 of an inch in most cases.Also, the reason we purchased this was to line our closets for that nice cedar scent. However, the scent was very mild, indeed. After receiving the boxes and learning of the issues, I first looked (again, more closely) at the review and Q&A section for this product. It seems the wood is harvested from the USA, but shipped to China for milling (per the company's response to one of the online Q&A's). So, point #1: jobs shipped overseas. Point #2: Product in transit so long it looses it's scent. When I then contacted the company about the warping and trim problems, they said I should have opened and inspected the wood, immediately upon arrival, as the wood is continuously kept in climate controlled conditions. So, obviously, the problem was that it warped after it arrived at my house (which is, by the way, climate controlled as well). So, I have to assume the product, having been shipped from USA to China and back again, must have been kept in climate controlled conditions for the entire route. Right? Point #3: I don't believe them. It probably warped in shipping. I will give them this: They offered to send me the equivalent to one-quarter of a full order. Big of them.

Shipping charge I never enjoy but only about $34 more then Lowe’s for having it delivered to my door. So since the quality and scent where perfect I have nothing bad to say.

The ones that were not warped were easy to install.But about 20% were warped. I will be buying them again to finish the project.

The first issue was the quality of the boards. They are tongue and groove boards that about 1/3 are warped and inconsistently finished. Some of the boards won't go together, some are broken apart where the joints should be, and others are so warped that placing the ends flat on a surface leaves the center more than an inch high.The next issue was the quantity. The description says each box covers 10 square ft. Each box contains 6 boards, each board is 47.375" x 3.75". That ends up being 7.5 square ft. so 1/4 of the boards are missing as advertised, which is made significantly worse after paying $424 (including shipping) for what should have been 120 sq. ft. that only covered 89 sq. ft.The final issue is the customer service. I reached out to the seller for the aforementioned issue, and was told that "when installed correctly" each box will cover 10 sq. ft.; I am not sure whether you are supposed to stretch the boards before you install them or install each board 1 foot apart since it didn't come with instructions... They further let me know that the only resolution they would offer was for me to return it at my expense, and only if it was in the original packaging unscathed.

Product comes in 4 boxes with 6 planks in each box. Hidden in the middle of each box is a pair of planks that are NOT the full 48 inch length that the item description claims and the main photo shows. I would not buy from this seller if you actually need what the product description (falsely) claims, i.e., full 48 inch length boards. You will get some boards that have to be pieced together to add up to 48 inches.If seller updates the description and photos to show what you actually receive I'll upgrade my review. As is, the product is unfortunately unacceptable.

Never by again not even 1/4 inch thick With in 2 years it will lose all its moisture and crack. All ready cracking after I picked it up out off the box the company should be ashamed of them selfs

Several others have already made this complaint and the manufacturer rudely says they are all "lying". But I'm here to testify that there are only 28 sq ft per package, i.e., one order comes to your house as 4 boxes of 1/4" t&g boards. There are only 6 boards per box x 4 boxes = 24 boards. Each board is 48" x 3.5". So instead of 8 sf per box there is only 7 sq ft. And you get only 4 boxes per package/ordered so 4 boxes/package = 4 x 7 sf = 28 sq ft per order, not 40 sq ft. .... I ordered 5 packages at $126 each thinking I might get 200 sq ft but only received 140 sq ft. That's a big discrepancy. I gave it a 2 rating (instead of a 1) only because the cedar t&g was all in really good shape and is certainly aromatic. Interesting how the manufacturer says you get 40 sq ft???? Even if you round the 3.5" boards to 4" wide you still only get 32 sq ft. per package. And, YES 20% are warped. So not happy.

All good with the product. Wood is very nice and serves well for the purpose intended!!! Looks great installed! But, ordered a package to cover 40 square feet and found that each 40 square foot package only contained just under 32 square feet??? Each box contains 6 pieces measuring 48” long X 3.75” wide... the 40 square foot packages comes with 4 boxes, each containing above mentioned pieces... when you do the math it works out to just under 32 square feet per package. All that said though... I am still quite happy with the product, it is genuine red cedar and looks great!!!

Good product, as expected, but be aware substantial import duties need to be paid.
