Is it battery operated?

It has a very short (about 6 inch) pig tail coming from the top of the unit. Wish it had a longer cord and that it was installed at the bottom. It's difficult to stabilize the unit on a table because the necessary extension cord pulls from the top and tops it over.

Will this run on a 220volts supply, or is it 110 volts only?

110 only..unless you have a power converter..220v to 110v

What the best placement? Near or away from seating areas?

Best away from seating areas and debris from exploding insects will fall within a 2' radius of the unit.

What kind of uv bulb is this is it uvc?

No, it is just a basic UV but you may be able to upgrade it to a UVC if you can find the right kind of male to female connection for the plug

Works Great

This bug zapper only has 1 draw back. It has a short cord (about 2 feet long) which means you have to use an extentsion cord to plug it in. it has zapped a few bugs so far but it should get a work out in June when the the bugs are out in full force. Overall happy with this purchase.

Wrong plugs and voltage

I never got the chance to try it out as when I unpacked it I found the plugs were US type and the rated voltage was 110. We use UK plugs and 220v. I returned it but I thought Amazon or the seller would have adjusted for buyer location or at least highlighted it in the description
