Love the Bose SoundTouch Portable!!!
The Bose SoundTouch Portable Series II Wireless is awesome and has exceeded our expectations! We are using it in our large kitchen/living area and it sounds great. It is super easy to use - either with buttons on the top of the device (power, volume, and six presets) or with the remote (power, volume, six presets, & thumbs up and down for Pandora), or the app on our iphones which has the everything mentioned plus you can easily get music from your computer or the internet. We shopped over a year for this and hesitated because of the price. We wanted something that would sound good and be easy to turn on and use. We chose this over a blue tooth device because we didn't want to always have to use our cellphones. My husband takes it into the garage while he's washing the car and it still works great. And the battery last a long time. We find six presets to be enough choices most of the time, but it's easy enough to add or listen to something different using the app. We are thinking of buying another one as a gift. We only wish we had bought this sooner!

Bose quality with only two cons
The Bose ST Portable Series II is a true Bose. The sound is rich and clear without waking the neighbors or knocking the pictures off the wall. The many sources of music are easily accisible through a downloadable app on my PC and Kindle and playable with a remote, software, or programmable preset buttons.I'm witholding a star because of two problems. The battery, which allows the player to be portable, lasts about 10 hours with little warning before it stops completely. There is a brief battery image on the player's screen. The broadcast can be contined by plugging in the player. The second problem is a software glitch that could be fixed. There is no way to sinc new music as it is added to ITines on my desktop PC. The online manual says that I should right-click on the SoundTouch icon in my system tray and choose SYNC. There is no such choice. I work around the problem by removing Itunes from the app and then adding it again. All that being said, I am pleased with my purchase.

Updated DO NOT BUY
Sometimes I have a hard time getting it to connect to Pandora or iHeart. Everything else in my office using the same network is fine and I have way more speed available than we need. When it is working it is great. Sometimes when I come in in the morning it just doesn't want to connect.Update!!! Do not buy. I have owned this for 14 months now. It has always been located in my office. I took it home and it would not start up. Took it back to my office, same thing. Was not dropped, exposed to weather or anything else. Spent a long while on the phone with Bose. Since my computer won't even recognize my Bose (because it won't completely power up) they said they can't do anything with it. Since I have had it over 12 months I now own an expensive useless speaker. Can't use AUX or anything. It will not complete the power up cycle. Good sound when it worked. Very disapointed with Bose customer service. This was my first Bose purchase, and I am pretty certain it will be my last.

This is an awesome speaker. I have a SoundTouch 30 and two ...
This is an awesome speaker. I have a SoundTouch 30 and two (2) SoundTouch 20s, but wanted a mobile, portable version as well. Don't listen to the setup haters. The setup process is only 2 steps...and they are easy. It took about 5-6 minutes to set this up, but that was downloading the update, etc. I did not need to babysit it for that time, just let it do its thing. Download the APP, click "Add Device" and it does the rest. It has a great sound. Nowhere near the SoundTouch 20 and not even in the same league as the SoundTouch 30, but for its small size, it sounds GREAT. I have had Bluetooth systems all over the house and they always required connecting, reconnecting, they cut out occassionally...WiFi is the way to go. My house is about 3000 sq. ft. plus a finished basement and I now have a whole house sound system that is awesome. The App could use some work. It works, but is not so user friendly. BOSE has heard this countless times and I know that they will be improving this. Great system!!!!

Very Difficult Set-Up, and NOT "portable"...
The written instructions that come with this Bose unit are incredibly marginal, and you have to rely on online instructions that just don't jive that well with what you're seeing in front of you. I suppose a "drag-and-drop" format would have been too much to ask? I've been at this for 2 hours now, and hav'nt made any progress other than getting the unit updated and registered. THIS SHOULD'NT HAVE TO BE THIS HARD. My eyes hurt from staring at the screen, and if I don't get this sorted out in the morning then I will just send the damned thing back :(Also: to BOSE: The word "Portable" means that it should have a handle to pick it up with, you should not have to squeeze the unit front-and-back to carry it around! The front grill cloth will get ugly pretty quick :(Update: I did end up keeping this unit, and I wish I'd just sent it back while I was still in the "return window". The Bass is muddy-ish... "boomy", the Mid's are just fair, and the High's are also "just fair". I think this unit would be appropriately priced at... $99. This is a "Lifestyle" product, it is NOT an AudioPhile product. Your friends will see this sitting out in your room, and they will think you are an AudioPhile... you are NOT. Like me, you are only someone who over-paid for the convenience of having some "fair" sounding music in a relatively small package. One thing you MUST do if you bought one of these SondTouch unit though is adjust the Bass, which is factory-set at "MAX" (no kiddin!) :( Go into the Boss App on either your phone or your PC, click "Explore" on the right, then "Settings", then click on "Systems", and finally on "Bose SoundTouch" and you will find yourself on the "Bass Adjustment" screen. Click the left side of the scale (-) to take a few bars off of that Bass, and check your Bose to see just how you like the improved sound. We ALL like Bass, but the Bose Bass was super-thick! With the Bass dialed back 3 or 4 bars, you can drive the volume more, and led the Mid's at least have some chance shining. The good news here is that the Bass adjustment DOES stick, even if you unplug and move the ST unit.

No tiene bluetooth, tengo varios modelos de bocinas bose y es la que menor calidad de sonido tiene, tarda en encender bastante tiempo y lo de portatil entre comillas ya que depende del wifi y es poco productiva.
