I agree with the previous commentator regarding “democracy”, but in general it’s a really nice in-depth work on the turbulent Jordanian history, worth reading!

Good intro to Jordan--hold the prescriptions
As a short history of the kingdom of Jordan, I appreciated the book. I found the frequent asides about inadequate democratization distracting--I was looking for an overview, not a persuasive work about what Jordan should be.
