Arcturus Heavy Duty Survival Blanket – Insulated Thermal Reflective Tarp - 60" x 82". All-Weather, Reusable Emergency Blanket for Car or Camping (Black)

I bought two of these for my pop up camper. I was going to use to shade the tops of the pop outs. I liked that they were water proof and the description said heavy duty. These are not heavy duty! I barely pulled the blanket across the top of my camper and it ripped on the seam where I was holding it! Literally ripped within minutes of taking it out of package!

I purchased these to go winter camping outside of Ely MN. The temps were pretty warm -- highs of about 36, and lows about +18F, with winds averaging 12-20 mph. I slept under the stars with a sleeping bag rated at +20F. I used one "blanket" as a ground cloth and a second one as a blanket over my bag. I was warm all night long. They are more compact than my usual "blue tarps" as ground cloth. Since it was so warm, I cannot be sure that the reflective coating [space blanket] helped or not.

For 20$ you’re getting a high end tarp, and boy is it tough I just set this up using a lean to, plow point, and A frame emergency shelter and stretched this as hard as I could and it’s blowing a solid 25-30mph in my backyard and this tarp didn’t disappoint! This is a great survival tarp/blanket buying two more as we speak for wife and daughter

While I have not fully tested this product, I will give my review as is. I will update once fully tested.First impressions: The build quality is excellent and it's a great size. I am 6 feet tall and it's a great height for me and surronds me nicely. The grommets are sturdy and the fabric around them seems strong also. The carry bag is a welcomed addition that could prove helpful in a survival situation. This blanket is a surprisingly wonderful find for the price. This is definitely going to be a good addition to my bug out bag, and if testing goes well we'll be adding it to our families camping bags.Feedback for future versions: 4 more grommet holes along the sides would make for easier shelter building, but this will work well for an A-frame style shelter.

Used on a pop-up camper as a cover for one of the bed slides. Works great, well made, and extremely effective at blocking out sunlight as well as reflecting heat. Used in conjunction with Reflectix over the windows the pop-up is now very comfortable.

First impression was this would work as a rain fly and double as an emergency blanket. Rain fly absolutely not! If you need an emergency blanket get a Mylar cheapo. I would not recommend

Mine ripped on one of the corners within the first hour putting it into a lean-to shelter configuration. I wrote a very lengthy review about my experience with this tarp, but either Arcturus or Amazon flagged it for removal. So I’m rating this again but with no details.

Having bought this for the Pathfinder Basic class, I used it last night for the first time to make a plow point shelter to sleep in. I went to adjust the farthest stake point (ridge) because the center was sagging on me, and after beating down the stake, the opposite grommet (ridgeline toggle) just ripped, separating the waterproof material from the black fabric at the corners. Any further use will continue to rip the structural fabric from the Arcturus material in the middle. Definitely wish I had bought the Pathfinder equivalent. Dave told us he test each shipment with the tarp hanging on one corner and a cinder block suspended from the opposite diagonal corner. I'm going to see if I can return this stupid thing.

Liked strength on corners and product in general.has many uses, tarp ,emergencies,tent footprint,will get a lot of use out of this product
