How is this for just softening leather? i do not want to change the color. i have a thick vest that is in good condition but very stiff.
Is this wax or oil based?
All I read seem to be thick leather items. Is the Pecard Leather Dressing intended for quality leather shoes and other items to protect their leather?

When leather loses it's lubricity (natural oils) it lightens in color so there may be only a slight darkening but that is the leather returning to its natural color. The loss of these lubricities is also why the leather is stiff. Be careful and try not to bend or flex the leather until you've conditioned it to avoid causing cracking.
