Works great with pulldown ladder to keep it stable and safe

This rubber mat prevents the ladder from sliding on your floor and from scratching it up. Has a strong rubber smell upon receipt, but I let it air out a couple days in the garage and it was no longer noticeable after that.

The smell is real, like the other reviews mentioned. I keep it in the shed so I only smell it when I take it out to use it. I've left it in the shed for over 3 weeks and the smell is still very pungent. Besides the smell, the product meets my need for extra safety when using the ladder. It's a good trade off for me as it's safety vs smell. I haven't tried rinsing it with water or washing it to rid the smell. Seem like the smell comes from the lubricant to prvent the rubber from drying out when stored in-stock. From the smell, the lubricant is very likely oil based.

Mine didn’t have a smell whatsoever like some of the comments state. Works good for exterior surfaces as well, like composite decking.

I used this on a wood floor to keep the ladder from sliding when propped against the wall and it worked as described - no slippage and worked with a tall ladder that had a wide base, just fitting inside the edges of the mat. True, it may be a little pricey for a piece of rubber-like material, but it was worth it for me to avoid potentially big problems if the ladder slid out from under me.

For two days I thought I had a plumbing issue. Isolated the terrible smell to this thing and threw it away.

Make sure to check the size of your ladder to ensure both feet fit the width of the rubber mat. This initially looked like a good fit but not all ladders are that narrow.

Protects floors well but misshapes a little too easy. However leave it in the sun on a flat surface and it will sort of go back in shape.

Bought this thinking, “if it doesn’t work, at least it wasn’t expensive”. Super impressed that it actually works. We got it to ensure our work ladder was secure and we’re all please try suppressed by it.

This item is over priced to the quality of the material - if I know that was the case i would purchased it.Regards

I gave this product a positive review when it was being sold for a tenner which it still should be. It's nothing more than a simple rubber mat. It was a brilliant product at the price.Then they went and jacked it up to it's current ridiculous price of 44 quid which in no plane of existence is it worth that. I really hope the sellers see this feedback and bring it back to 10-15 quid and they will sell a lot more of them. Shocking greediness.
