Coverage: Unlike other hydrating foundations, this one dries down to a satin finish fairly quickly (I’d say 5-10 minutes). I actually loved that finish more than I thought I would because I’m a dewy girl typically. I got light coverage by dabbing the foundation on face and blending out. I got medium coverage when I dipped my kabuki into foundation and applied to my face. I haven’t tried building layers since I’m not a layer girl and light/medium coverage is my preference.Wear: I didn’t notice any creasing, but I did use their serum primer which should help with that. Honestly with light/med coverage, I find it difficult to see when makeup starts wearing off. I will say that I can normally see my nose pores after a full day of work, but they were still covered with this Ilia foundation, so that’s a good sign. Since I have dry skin, I don’t set my makeup with powder so my wear time is reduced. Side note, I’ve heard good things about the Ilia powder so I’m going to give it a shot. Fingers crossed that it’s another win.Hydration: More than anything else, I love how this foundation does not dry out my skin. It’s been years since I’ve used a foundation that didn’t leave me with dry spots on my nose and around my mouth within 2-3 hours. With Ilia, I have no issues with flakes. It’s an absolute game changer for me! One time, I actually forgot to apply moisturizer to my nose because I was rushing. Even then, I had just a few, tiny dry skin flakes on my nose AND it’s the middle of a winter. I was so impressed!Color: I recommend looking at the Ilia site for guidance on which foundation color is for you. I’ve heard some complaints that the color is dull, and before the Ilia foundation dried down , I was a little worried about that too. However, once it’s dry, it looks so naturally beautiful, like a healthier version of your own skin. For those that like more glow, I’ve seen some use Ilia highlighter serum under the foundation. I might try that in the future.Bottom line: I absolutely adore this foundation. It looks so good that I’m actually wearing foundation to work again. I haven’t done that in years because of the flakiness of my previous foundations. It may be on the pricey side, but it is worth it to me. I will definitely repurchase when I run out.

After watching an Instagram influencer apply Ilia makeup I wanted to purchase everything she used. And I did buy what was available. This stuff is so popular several of the items in this line are sold out everywhere. And I do mean everywhere. It’s frustrating. This foundation is great as long as you don’t need full coverage. For reference I just turned 60 and I have freckles and other issues that need color correcting. So in addition to using this foundation I have to use other products if I want to cover everything up. If I’m just at home or only have to run a few errands this stuff is great. It goes on well and doesn’t settle too badly into fine lines. I find it works best applied with my fingers. Then I go over it with a brush and buff it out. It’s clean and good light to medium coverage.

This is more of a light coverage foundation. Very moisturizing and dewy. I put it on at 9am and was completely off my face before 3pm. Definitely doesn’t last all day. For the cost not sure I’ll keep this.

I have a love/hate relationship with this makeup. It looks beautiful in natural sunlight, but in office lighting or on a cloudy day it accentuates every single pore (big or small) on your face. It feels very greasy, doesn’t ever feel “dry” and wipes completely off if you touch your face. I have tried applying with and without primer, with a sponge, brush, and my fingers, and tried setting it with powder. No matter what I do, all I can see is my pores. The coverage is medium and it does a really good job of evening out my skin tone… but sinking into every pore and fine line is killing me. It feels incredibly heavy and greasy around my eyes (I’ve tried with and without concealer at the eye area). Its so greasy that it makes your mascara run if it isn’t waterproof. If you have poreless, normal skin, this may be great for you.
