The Kung Fu Fighting Fan is a beautifully crafted metal fan measuring 14.75 inches long and 27.25 inches when opened, weighing only 8oz. It features an eye-catching white dragon design on a blue background, making it both a functional training tool and a stunning performance accessory.

great fan
After a few opens-and-closes of this fan (using it as it was designed) the glue strips/adhesive starts to fail on the two leading edges. Not a big issue, as a little brush-on super glue works to re-adhere the fabric to the metal. The POP when opening this quickly for kenpo is very attention-getting. Sturdy metal blades. Also moves a lot of air when used for cooling.

I've purchased all colors, Blue was the most poorly constructed.
I've purchased numerous version of this fan, recently. Getting ready for a tournament, and I needed multiple fans to practice with and I wanted the blue color to compete with. Most of these fans are very sturdy! However, I've purchased two of the blue version, and both of these fan had poor adhesion in the slats/boning. I recommend folding the fan the "wrong" way so you can see the fabric pulled aside, to check the construction of the boning. I would detach any boning that is showing the tack, and re-glue it. They're tacked on with some sort of sticky tape - not with true glue. I've had to re-glue both fans, completely, with Modpodge and super glue. Seems to have done the trick. They're also metal so they will cut your hands up with major usage, and they're heavier than traditional bamboo fans. They'll definitely cause some pain though, when used in Tessenjutsu and the closed fan takes a decent hit without breaking. I've used my one pair of fans for about a month, religiously every day, while I prep for my tournament, and the fabric is almost completely ripped on the one fan. That's actually a good thing - it's withheld a beating this long, was my point.

not bad for the money
Nice large fan. Very distinctive pop as it opens. A few points on quality The nylon fabric is sturdy, however it is poorly cut and a bit ragged. With use I expect to have to remelt the edges to keep it from fraying. The glue used to hold the fabric to the spines was poorly applied and I expect to have to repair it after use. The metal splines are nice and sturdy with the exterior splines being heavier and thicker giving it the weight needed to snap open. The splines are not the same size and poorly finished resulting in rough edges that others complained about. The rivet that holds it all together is a weak point that I also expect to replace. They use a weak pop rivet that will eventually break. When it does I will replace it with a metal grommet and a solid rivet. The pattern painted on the material was obviously still a bit wet when something was set on it and left a design imprint on part of the wet paint. Basically it is a mass produced item with poor quality control, that has good potential that falls short due to cheap labor practices. Given that, I would advise caution buying this item. The lack of quality control from my observations and those of other buyers, suggests that you really don't know what you're going to get. With a little work I can make mine fairly nice. I may end up replacing the nylon when I rebuild/refinish the metal splines.

Great for show
I really like this product because it is great for show and cosplay. However, as a martial artist, the durability is low. So don't try to go overboard playing Mulan lol. Also, do not leave in any form of heat. The glue will melt and not be as sturdy. (I had to re-glue mine).

50/50 - Inconsistent production quality
I ordered two red fans and one black one. One red one came with most of the metal blades completely or partially detached from the fabric. Tried to glue them back on, but to no avail. Had to return it. The manufacturing is very inconsistent. The fabric of all is identical (except for the color), but with the metal parts, it's almost as if each fan was made by a different company using completely different materials! The black fan weighed 15.9 ounces, one red fan weighed 13.5 ounces, and the second fan (broken) weighed 11.5 ounces. All have the sticker on the handle with initials TG. I previously purchased a different fan from the same company, nearly identical in appearance, which weighed only 9.5 ounces and was made of much thinner metal (RC on the handle). I liked it so much, and so did some friends, so I wanted to get more fans, but in additional colors, so I ordered this item, thinking from the description that it was identical to my previous fan. Figured that the pricing differences were just a quirk of Amazons pricing algorithm. Nope. Not the same item. (2510-B in black is my first one.)One red fan and both black fans that I have open and close nicely and are easy to use for my martial arts class. The heavy black fan can certainly be used as a weapon - as a bludgeon, if nothing else! At almost one pound, it would hurt quite a bit if you hit someone with it closed, like a baton. Very thick outer metal blades, thinner inner blades. Holding all four fans (3 from this order, one from previous) sideways, you can clearly see that no two fans are alike - the thickness of the metal blades varies from fan to fan.Fabric on all seems quite durable, no complaints there. With the heavy use I will be putting these to with my martial arts practice, I imagine it will eventually fray a bit near the edges.Just a shame that the country of origin (China for all) doesn't have very good quality control. I don't blame the seller for this; I imagine all the sellers of this item (there are many) probably have the same product inconsistencies.

Not 14.75"
Not the size (14.75") it is supposed to be. This is not the large model advertised (see the picture). Also, only the first and last "bones" are stainless steel, all the inside bones are an alloy of some kind.I cut myself trying it... The stainless steel bones are ok. It is the alloy ones that are sharp.Big deception.Très déçue. Pas la grandeur indiquée dans la description, plus petit (voir la photo).Attention, coupant! Les lattes intérieures sont coupantes. Les deux (extérieures) en stainless ne coupent pas.Si je le gardais, je sablerais les bords.
