unstatified ~ twice
I'd like to return the two (2) DVD that were sent to me. Both received had a prompt that said not authorized to play in my region. (I am still awaiting to hear back what country so that the return address is complete & the P.O. will accept)I send these DVD movies to my grand daughter who lives w/her Spanish speaking grandparents, along w/young cousins. The seller wanted to send me a web link, if I recall correctly, that would instruct on how to get the DVD to play. If I was unable/unwilling to do so, I certainly wasn't going to inflict what should be a gift to kids.I still do not see that my account has been credited back. Regretfully, I feel sour about the experience.Mrs. B

Brother Bear
This was a great family flick that has something for everyone. This traditional 2-D movie uses animals to give a message of tolerance and respect. Kenai is the youngest brother of the three and the setting is in the Pacific Northwest thousands of years ago. In a Native American ceremony, Kenai received his totem which is chosen by the great spirits. Kenai was given a bear totem that signifies love but was teased by his brothers who had received manlier totems such as wisdom and guidance. During the ceremony, a bear came and ate their basket of fish that was not tied properly. Kenai decided to go after the bear and Sitka follows to ensure his safety, but results in his own death. Kenai is set on avenging his brother's death and ignores his middles brothers advice on letting it go. Right as he kills the bear the spirits turn him into a bear to teach him a lesson. Through out the movie you see him try avoiding death from his own brother who thought he had killed both his brothers, as well as becomes friends with the cub bear of the mother bear he killed. In the end, he was given a chance to stay a bear or come back to his human form and decides to stay a bear and help raise the cub. Overall, this was a great movie.

Artwork Sleeve Missing
Dislike. The product clearly shows the Artwork Sleeve version of the DVD and in fact this was not what we received. We have been building our collection and remain 4 short. So thank-you for the DVD but falsely advertised

Disney on autopilot.
Disney’s Brother Bear is traditional and very handsome hand drawn animation, with occasional CGI inserts, that makes absolutely no attempt to be anything other than a simple, entertaining and colourful cartoon aimed squarely at kids. Comparisons with Disney’s very successful The Lion King (the circle of life thing) are inevitable and are in some ways fair, but on the whole Brother Bear is a sturdy if slightly insipid standalone tale with enough spirit and spectacle to keep younger audiences happy. This coming of age tale about a young Native American who is turned magically into a bear, and in doing so learns what it is like to be hunted, is not very subtle and it’s not going to win any Pulitzers, but it’s perfect and familiar Disney territory and was diverting enough and keep my 5 year old watching for a rather short 82 minutes. Disney’s attempt to create another Lion King rather backfired as critics generally gave it a roasting and it did not do well at the box office. With a few decent songs written and performed by Phil Collins and Tina Turner, lovely old fashioned animation, a few good laughs, and two very funny Moose characters, Brother Bear just about keeps it head above water, even though it’s definitely in the shallow end of the Gene Pool.Unremarkable, but good looking and engaging.

Brother Bear
Brother Bear is a 2003 American animated fantasy film produced by Walt Disney Feature Animation and released by Walt Disney Pictures, the 44th animated feature in the Disney Animated Canon. In the film, an Inuit boy named Kenai pursues a bear in revenge for a battle that he provoked in which his oldest brother, Sitka, is killed. He tracks down the bear and kills it, but the Spirits, angered by this needless death, change Kenai into a bear himself as punishment. To be human again, Kenai must learn how to see through another's eyes, feel through another's heart and discover the true meaning of brotherhood.Originally titled Bears, it was the third and final Disney animated feature produced primarily by the Feature Animation studio at Disney-MGM Studios in Orlando, Florida; the studio was shut down in March 2004, not long after the release of this film in favor of computer animated features. The film received an Academy Award nomination for Best Animated Feature, but lost to the fellow Disney/Pixar film Finding Nemo. A sequel, Brother Bear 2, was released on August 29, 2006.

Beautiful story of a bear family and a human family and how they ineract.
Some films are so popular and they are shown everywhere, and when they come on the TV I see them by accident and find them formulaic, with stock characters, poor animation and sketchy backgrounds, made quickly and cheaply but was it worth the effort, really?. Yet there are other films that are beautiful, with lovely unusual stories, and you have never heard of them.Brother Bear is one of the latter, brilliant but I have never seen it advertised. The visual art is in the style of the Canadian 'Group of seven', the story is entertaining, and there are strong female characters. I can't recommend it more highly, it's for all the family. BTW 'Balto' is another film that is underrated.
