Haven't used yet.
I haven't used this yet. I purchased because my Corys were laying eggs, and they were being eaten. Of course when this arrived, no more eggs. It looks like it's going to be a pain to assemble.

Works. But just ok.
Great in a pinch (and cheap) when a momma fish needs some privacy… but the net can trap some fry around the frame. If saving every fry is your goal, go with a nicer, rigid breeder box

Sufficient
This is my second one of these netting style breeder houses. I use to use a solid hard plastic one, but it was too heavy, didn't have a good circulation going through it, hard to keep on the side of the tank due to weight, and took up a lot of storage space. The first one I lost. This is a simple design, essentially a plastic square with netting. The netting allows good circulation of current tank water to enter. It has two metal clips on the side for holding it in place. I am currently using it to house cherry shrimp offspring until they get bigger.I could see the net tearing if one is not careful. There is a nice drawstring at the top to tighten the net around its plastic housing and also give somewhat of a top to the container. I would not try muscling this too tight. I suppose the quality of the netting could be improved, hence the 4 star, but by all means it works effectively and I have had no problems.

Flimsy, but does its job.
I ordered this when one of my guppies looked like she was about to burst. Unfortunately she had her babies before the product arrived, but on a positive note I was able to scoop them into a bowl before any were gobbled up. The net trap arrived later in the evening and I was able to transfer the fry safely. It was very easy to set up, plug the legs into the frame, slide the mesh netting over the frame, and bend the metal bars to hang onto the side of your fish tank. I have a 10 gallon tank and this was a good size. I wouldn't recommend this if you have smaller than a 10 gallon or your fish will be kind of cramped. The design is pretty flimsy, be prepared for it to fall apart when you're ready to remove it. All in all it serves its purpose, its easy to use, and the price is decent.

Simple, Net Breeder Box
This is a simple plastic frame with a mesh netting cover that slips over it, securing one side open with drawstrings to pull it tight. We use this to isolate new fish introduced in our tank while fully acclimating them to tank water. This allows fish to adjust to our tank water (after a slow acclimation) without being fully exposed to the other tank mates. This allows both the new fish and the existing fish to get used to each other in a safe, slow manner. This net breeder box was ideal when we added a second, juvenile clownfish in our tank to pair with an adult male clownfish. The new juvenile was safe in the breeder for 24 hours while the adult swam around the outside and got used to his presence. When we released him into the tank they were fast friends with no fighting.

Great for beginners!
We are in the process of trying to breed guppies. This breeding net is so simple to put together, and seems sturdy enough for all the fry. We have about 20 fry right now in there, and there is still plenty of room for more :). the only problem i have so far with it is the size, it would be fine for maybe a 10 gallon tank...but takes up alot of space in our small 6 gallon. We plan on updating our tank soon, because out guppies are multiplying like crazy. I would reccomend this to anybody who has a ten gallon tank or larger.

Not a good product
I bought this item because it was one of the cheaper breeder nets and I thought since it was mesh that it would get good circulation(but it doesn't). When you get it there is two square walls that go on each side of the net. Then there are these four plastic posts that go in between the walls to support them from collapsing. Well the posts don't fit correctly and keep falling out. It has two metal pieces that just hang over the side of your tank and they hold the net there but they are very flimsy and i had to bend them a lot to make sure the whole net was in the water. I would much rather try a breeder net with suction cups so it is almost submerged in water and that way its back is flat against the side of my aquarium. Rather than taking the chance that my fish get stuck behind it. At first I was using it to separate my baby guppies, and was realizing that they were slowly disappearing. Later to find out that there was a rip in the net and the baby's got out and we're eatin. I am NOT happy about the purchase of this net, I would recommend getting a plastic one.

Safety for fry.
I bought this as a day after buying our platys, one of them decided to give birth! Not wanting the poor little mites to get munched on, I quickly bought this (prime same day is an absolute God send!) and transferred the babies into it in the corner of the tank.Quick to set up and doesn't take up much space in the tank. Two weeks later they have grown, been released and they are doing brilliantly!

Brilliant
Fantastic. I bought a plastic one last time and the Cory fry were so small they swam right out the vents. They’ve hatched tonight in this one and so far, so good. Can’t fault it, easy to put together and does the job. Don’t understand how it could even possibly come apart in the tank or how somebody could manage to rip the net. Glad I didn’t listen to those comments

Simple idea
We purchased this as we had an expected surprise the day after we brought some new guppies home and added them to the aquarium. We ended up with 5 tiny fry swimming around at the top of the tank. They kept swimming in and out of our filter vents to the side where the sponges where but thought this would be a better safer option. Simple enough to put together and hopefully it will do the trick and hopefully these 5 fry will make it. Time will tell if it lasts and the fry.

Good quality product
This fish net is of very good quality and is very easy to assemble. It is of a very good size offering the mother fish and it's fry plenty of room to swim in and the mesh net is well constructed. when it's in the water, there is enough space at the top so the fish/fry can't jump out of with thanks to a generous overlap around the rim. overall, a very good product.

The metal on the cage rusted within a few days ...
The metal on the cage rusted within a few days which cause droplets of rust to drop into my tank. The metal also broke off one side while trying to stabilise the cage to the side of the tank as it was so thin. I won't advise anyone to buy this product. I no longer use this product, we only used for 3 days, it was definitely money washed down the drain!
