Final Crisis Omnibus

This is awesome
I've read the complete series ( digital and book) and when I saw this book carrying them all, needed to have it. This thing is pretty solid and it's a good size. I'm using it more for a showcase in my collection since I've read it already. I've reread the sections that I had digitally and I wish I just bought the print. Now I have it all.

Disappointing is the first word that came to mind after reading this omnibus
The only good thing about this omnibus is the amount of material collected - 51 one comics in all. The list can be found in other reviews and the product page. However, the story and reading order felt choppy and not connected. For example, Teen Titans 59 - 60 and Terror Titans 1 - 6 are good stories to read but they have no bearing and connection to the Final Crisis story line. The only tenuous connection is the Dark Side Club. The reading order also made the story very disjointed. For example, Darkseid appeared as the boss of the Dark Side club in Teen Titans 59 - 60 but in the Final Crisis issues, he was dead. However, the "death" of Darkseid was not included in this omnibus! Also the entire story line of the multiversal monitors were also very confusing. In addition, this omnibus did not have a table of contents nor original covers to the original comics. If possible, get it on the cheap. I don't think it is worth the cover price ($150). This volume is huge, over 1500 pages, so I don't recommend standing this book up on a shelf. Over time, the spine will rip due to the weight. Instead, I recommend to place this volume flat on a shelf.

Final Crisis, Best Crisis
I've read Final Crisis before, but not like this. Final Crisis 10th Anniversary Omnibus is the ultimate edition of this story, which includes the original 7 issues, issues leading up to Final Crisis, concurrent tie-in issues (don't miss Superman Beyond #1-2), and an epilogue. This story is not for the faint of heart. Prior knowledge of the DC Universe is recommended. Final Crisis is Grant Morrison at his best. He goes big with apocalyptic events, heartfelt moments, and ideas as grandiose as they are delusional. Many other writers and artists contribute to this omnibus to complement Morrison's epic. Final Crisis 10th Anniversary Omnibus features the greatest heroes and villains that comic books have to offer. This grand event story culminates in a shocking ending that has ripple effects for the entire DC Universe, past, present, and future. This story is by far my favorite Crisis from DC Comics, and indeed, one of my favorite stories of all time (second only to The Multiversity, which feels like a spiritual sequel to this book). All this collected in a beautiful tome weighing nearly 10 pounds. The jacket art is beautiful and the hardcover underneath is sleek and bespoke. The binding is strong, and the pages between the covers are immaculate. This omnibus is well worth your time and money. Savor this journey.

Unintelligible mess
Having read DC comics for nearly 60 years, I can easily say that this omnibus was the most difficult story to follow and understand of any story DC has published in that time. The story skips around to the point that I felt that there must surely be content from various titles that was not included in this omnibus. The whole concept of Jack Kirby's New Gods and Darkseid is blended into a story that attempts to change things that were in place since the "Crisis on Infinite Earths". Although there are some story arcs that made sense and were well executed, much of it made no sense at all. I admit that I never fully appreciated the original "Anti-Life Equation" concept, but I appreciate it less after reading this omnibus. One technical issue. The weight and size of the volume makes it difficult to read. Double-page spreads that would have been easy to appreciate in the original comic book format are impossible to view and even read all the text as the pages are bound to the spine. So many of the other DC omnibus collections are excellent; this one is a clear exception. My recommendation is to spend your money on other omnibus collections.

Utterly incomprehensible and totally disappointing...
Reading this omnibus... sorry, *trying* to read this omnibus has been such a draining experience that it’s hard to find the energy for a review...If you thought other authors like Jonathon Hickman could make a frustratingly difficult read, that’s really nothing compared to this awful mess.Firstly, Batman is in about 5% of the 1500 pages of this book, and Darkseid is in it ten times less! I was expecting to be thrown-off by dozens of DC characters I’ve never heard of, but the biggest obstacle you’ll get here is the truly wretched and endlessly baffling way in which this has been edited and compiled. I mean, what were they thinking??? Each parallel narrative string is only dipped into for about two pages at a time, this means I kept thinking I’d turned too many pages at once as I battled through the panels. At the very least, a contents page and title pages would offer some useful markers for finding your bearings around this book, but nope, it’s like being thrown into a haystack blind-folded. For 1500 pages, this is exhausting!Want to know why Batman is suddenly imprisoned in big metal cocoon for the majority of the story? Well if you find out let me know, because I’ve read the whole book and I’m only mildy clear on what was happening there myself!? The book is full of stuff like this - or should I say, missing stuff like this - throughout, and in comparison to the other epic omnibus books I own, this level of unintelligible story-telling is really unnecessary.I’ve seen many other reviewers mention that this multi-narrative hopping is a trait of Grant Morrison’s style, but I had no such problems with the books he wrote before and after this opus, so maybe it really is just the way it’s been cobbled together?Anyway, don’t buy this. Just don’t bother, really! Read the wikipedia article about it, or watch the Comics Explained video, and then just carry on with your life safe in the knowledge that you’ve saved yourself countless hours of misery that could of been spent trudging through this dumpster fire.

DC go FULL Morrison
I love this story so much and it's a period of DC that I am totally in love with and return too often. This is a monster of a book and fantastic value for money, it may be the biggest Omnibus I have ever seen. I read the mini series at the time and one of the tie ins but this is the 1st time I have ever read the full story with the tie ins and it is really worth it. It's in reading order which is always a must and this is truly a story that is just FULL Morrison, if you like Grant Morrisons work this is an essential purchase this is a grand epic and it's the most threatening and awesome Darkseid has been in years and years.

5 star rating to the writing and artwork but do read on..
Beware when buying a book this big, because it is VERY heavy and can be extremely uncomfortable and frustrating to read. Plus the comic book paper will reflect light so not only will you need to find a comfortable position to read on but also one that doesn't reflect light. The book itself is fine, the main event is huge, Batman RIP is EXTREMELY good, Legion of 3 worlds was messy and had the most annoying Superboy prime of all time but the product itself is very good. Consistently good artwork from start to finish. However the Infinite Crisis omnibus is a bit better imo

Great read and amazing book
Having the full story of Final Crisis in one book is simply amazing, and the book itself is such a high quality product. This book is a great deal.
