Probably BEST for Trumpets, Cornets, and Flugel Horns, and Lions and Tigers and Bears...
I started playing a cornet in 1949. I've added a few trumpets and a flugel horn since that time. I've used more brands of valve oil than currently exists (many are out of business). When I started playing, valve oil was just a thin oil in a little glass bottle with an eye-dropper cap on it. They worked OK, if used daily and you kept your valves clean. I remember more than one occasion over the years when I didn't oil my valves for some reason and a valve stuck during a concert. I was a first chair player and usually had a bunch of solos. Let me tell you, a stuck valve a the wrong time doesn't exactly make you sound like Harry James (Yes, he really was a famous trumpeter). Recently, I suffered some stuck valves at a bad time and reviewed my habits. Yes, I kept my valves scrupulously clean and oiled them DAILY. No, it isn't the trumpet (It's a Bach Stradivarius), Had to be the oil. A friend told me about ALISYN. I ordered a bottle and tried it. I was a whole lot leery about a new oil because I thought I's tried 'em all. I also can tell you that some valve oils smell so bad it's hard not to lose your lunch when you put the mouthpiece on your lips. Well, ALISYN is a synthetic oil with no foul smell. The BEST thing about it is, IT WORKS. I am a good technical trumpeter and I play it all...classical, sacred, jazz, even country. I need fast, reliable valve action. I got just that. Really fast valves, NO STICKING, no bad smell (or taste). I also discovered that NOT oiling everyday will NOT cause the valves to stick. I oiled the valves on my old cornet and put it up in the closet for a couple of months. When I took it out to play, the valves still felt oiled and ready to go. I don't think there is a better valve oil out there...and I've tried a bunch of 'em in my 63 years of playing. I really like this stuff. Wish I owned the company. If you play a brass instrument with valves, YOU WANT THIS STUFF.

One of the best oils I have found in over 30 years of playing & cleaning my horns
I have used many oils on my instruments over the past 30 years. When I was younger I would just use whatever was laying around in the practice room or what my grandfather had in his cabinet (usually Hetman). With that said, this is one of the nicest oils I have used. I received a sample of this oil and was very impressed. No SmellHigh ViscosityGreat for an older instrumentI picked up one of my horns at a garage sale that had not been cleaned in more than 20 years. The valves were difficult to move and the slides were impossible to remove. I used the Alisyn Valve Slide Key synthetic oil in several locations and let the oil sit to penetrate into the instrument. I came back 30 minutes later and all but one slide (#2) was able to be disassembled. The valves were easy to be removed and properly cleaned. Adding a little more of the oil to the #2 slide and 24 hours later it too was easy to remove. This oil is a must have for bringing new life to older instruments. I also purchased the Alisyn Cork and Tuning Slide Grease and await its arrival later on this week.I will be using Alisyn exclusively on my horns from now on.

Effective, long-lasting, and high quality
I’ve used this on my trumpet valves for a few years now after trying lots of different oils. This one works great, and I rarely have to oil my valves even after my trumpet sits for a few months.

Great Oil for Older Horns
This is the highest-viscosity valve oil on the market, with a viscosity of 7.59 cst. It is not a fast oil, but it is ideal for older horns with valve wear. This oil will improve valve compression and improve the performance of any horn with worn valves. As a bonus, it is long-lasting, requiring fewer oilings. Lower-viscosity oils are great for newer horns, but use Alisyn on vintage horns with worn valves. You will feel the difference while playing.

A Must Have for Horn Players!
Very good quality valve oil. No scent and a great viscosity. Using it on a new Bach Strad purchased about 4 months ago. If you are switching from a standard petroleum based valve oil, be sure to thoroughly soak and scrub your horn and valves before switching to the Alisyn, otherwise your valves will get pretty gummy. After using this I don't think I'll go back to standard valve oil.

Works
Helped my cornet valves/pistons work better given the increased viscosity of this oil and that the horn was many years old.

Great Stuff
This oil works well and even cleaned off the gunk and residues the other oils left behind. I have used it only a few times since I bought it, and only when I clean my trumpet do I have to re-apply and that is only due to the fact that I wipe off the old oil and clean the valve casings of my trumpet.

I have not yet had an opportunity to use it, but I am familiar and I know it will do the job. It's just oil for crying out loud, what can possibly go wrong?
