How do I know what size is right for me?

This is correct how ever if you plan on using this for a spector Euro 5 lx or lt get the large the valute on the back of the neck does not let the medium fit right at all

Was going to order one until I saw that there's different sizes, what would be good for a Fender Jazz bass?

I bought a small, and it just barely fits my jazz and precision bass. I would get a medium if I were you.

If my gtr has a locking nut, would I be able to use this and still be able to play open strings without muting them?

Probable not- the whole idea of this item is to cleanup the slight miscues or string buzz from heavy playing/ distortion. I kind of takes the other strings out of play if you know what I mean. So no for open strings. Not bad for mythological playing where you want to be super clean around the fretboard. You can move it around too if what you are playing keeps you away from the 1st few frets. Not bad to have one- you probable would find a use for it unless all you play is heavy metal. :) They are cheap enough but tend to stretch after a while and the Velcro wears out- than it’s useless and u need a new one. Hope that helps.

Amazonのポイントが余っていたので、なんとなく購入しました。テクニカル系のギタリストの動画などで使用されているのをよく目にしますが、万年初心者の自分には効能が少ないアイテムでした。ネックや指板を傷つけない、柔らかい素材で作られていますが、その分質感というか、モノとしてのかっこよさみたいなものも控えめだと思います。傷むような使い方もしないとは思いますが、耐久度も高いというものでは無いと思います。必要性をもう少し真面目に検討して購入すればよかったです。

雑に扱うと変形する？！

評判通りの使い具合で、素材の生地がやわいので耐久力が…すでにギターハンガーのネック部にあたってバンド部が変形細くなってしまった。ギターを弾き終えてスタンドにかける場合は、当然ながら、はずしたほうがいい（笑）

商品の画質が悪く読みにくいですが、ミディアムが6弦ギター、ラージが7〜8弦ギターに適してます。スウィープやタッピング、その他ギターソロの時に重宝しています。初心者がいきなりこの商品を使用するのはオススメできないかもしれません。両手を使用しての不要弦のミュートのスキル向上の邪魔になるような気がします。
