461 Ocean Boulevard (Remastered) [CD]

When is Eric Clapton not a TEN? I have been to three of his solo concerts and another when he and Steve Winwood reunited. The last solo concert I somehow managed to be in the fourth row, third seat in from center aisle and because the venue he chose this time was an Amphitheater, it was so well sloped that even seated, you could clearly see him play. My mother was a Concert Pianist and she once told me that if you truly want to hear the music or singer, you must shut yours eyes so all other noise is gone from distractions. I have done it so often, even in my home, and it is true. I mention this, because once a song really got going, Clapton only opened his eyes to signal the band. That night his playing was pure and from HIM. It was magnificent! And, during intricate solos, I would watch his hands – an unbelievable sight to behold the ease and fluency of difficult and sometimes rapid movements, all the while his eyes were shut! A master, gifted musician that even through suffering, has given the world the best there is.

This is my first SACD and i can not believe what i have been missing. Just an outstanding album with an obvious difference in the recording. I have seen the light, now to try to get as many as i can, while they are still available.Why can't the industry get it together and go back and start releasing more music in hi def. mp3s are a joke. It is incredible that the only reliable way to get hi def is internet downloads which forces more equipment. Thanks to the people responsible for the release of 461 a true pleasure to listen to.

Everyone knows the album, so I'll just comment on the SQ. EXCELLENT! Superb surround mix.

This is a great-sounding SACD! It is NOT, however, the Deluxe Edition, as it doesn't have the 2nd CD with the live tracks (see editor's notes above). That said, I'm still glad I bought it, and for a reasonable price for this SACD version. If you're into SACD, get it before it is either out-of-print or otherwise unavailable (or really expensive). Absolutely one of EC's best, if not THE best!

Thanks for a great product & service

While this is a great sounding CD. and a fantastic record this does not have DTS sound. So do not count on 5.1 audio which to me is a huge disappointment. You get the usual stereo mix and the sacd mix which to me is basically simulated surround. Take for instance the sacd of Pink Floyds Dark Side of the Moon.WOW in 5.1 it is incredible! Wish this CD sounded like that! Still good but not what I was hoping for.

I bought this awhile back and I never did I review. But I feel everyone deserves the right to know how their products were. It came without a problem and it played okay. I would definitely buy it again. Just sorry for the late review
