Only reason it’s not a 5 star - metal probe interferes with detecting when inserted and shovel is best for sifting and sorting sand not digging. It does work in light sand, but forget digging heavier sand with this shovel. It didn’t break, but it does void to the point that I wouldn’t want to push it too far.

this is a good product for sorting dirt when metal detecting. the only thing I would change is to make it a bit smaller. It is easy to use and the probe screws into the handle in both direction making it easy to carry and store.

I liked the scoop size and design, liked the hi visibility orange so it doesnt get left behind, liked the lanyard hole, liked that (with the probe removed) i can scan each scoop with the propointer for finds. Seems like fairly tough plastic, and im optimistic it will last a few years if i dont step on it first. I wouldnt advise putting much force behind it, but as a scoop for what's loosened by a digging tool, its good enough to recommend.
