I'm sure this might be fine with FSA or other brands, but does not match up with Wolftooth. Was cheap enough to hang onto, but will purchase the Wolftooth version for my current headset.

I need to put a fork with a straight 1-1/8” steerer tube into a frame with a tapered 1-1/8 to 1-1/2 head tube. Simple, right?Maybe not so much. I ordered this baseplate (or crown race, depending on whose terminology you prefer). I figured it would be a piece of cake when it arrived … install it on the fork, slap the bearing on it, put the fork in place, install the other stuff (upper headset, stem, etc), declare victory, and go get a beer. Simple, right?Maybe not so much. I was going to use a Cane Creek bearing, but that didn’t fit properly. So I rummaged around and found a FSA bearing. That didn’t fit, either. Candidate number three was a Chris King bearing. Those have a smaller interior bevel and tend to sit higher on the baseplate. But nope, that didn’t fit either. Just to double check, I grabbed a couple other 1-1/2 baseplates (FSA and Cane Creek). All the bearings fit both of those baseplates. So this “conversion” piece is clearly the problem. The bearing seems to want to rock around on the baseplate instead of fitting together cleanlyAnyway, it’s on its way back to Amazon. I have a FSA conversion baseplate on order, so there’s not much I can do until it arrives. Might as well go get a beer.

Doesn’t fit my specialized crux headsets.

Worked great for me to convert a 1-1/8" steerer tube to fit a modern 1-1/2" headset I needed to use to utilize the FSA hidden wire headset. A real problem solver for me.

this was as advertised. i messed up the crown race that came with my headset, so i went ahead and replaced it with this one. Way more solid!!
