Set of 2 Grapefruit Spoons and 1 Grapefruit Knife, Stainless Steel, Serrated Edges

Wanted a grapefruit knife like my Mother had and thought I would try this one. The material of the blade isn't as heavy duty as my Mom's was. However, it does slice the grapefruit with ease and makes easy work of sectioning. for the price, it was definitely worth having, and getting the two spoons was a nice bonus. The spoons are great! They scoop out all the juicy goodness of the grapefruit!

Some reviewers stated that this set was cheaply made because the blade was flexible - however, a grapefruit knife should be flexible; it is designed to follow the shape of the fruit - you use a normal chef knife to cut the fruit in half, then use a grapefruit knife to separate the membrane. This is a very nice little set, especially for the price.

I lost my one remaining grapefruit spoon. I ADORE fresh grapefruit and have always sectioned the pieces and enjoyed the fresh juice. This is the first time I've used a grapefruit spoon and what a joy!! It makes sectioning a grapefruit and I guess any citrus so much easier, less wasteful. This very affordable set is highly recommended.

The spoons do their job of scooping out the grapefruit pulp effectively, leaving very little, if anything in the rind. I do have an issue with the knife. Because it is serrated on both planes it will rip the membrane between the sections causing a less than even cut. For my use it would be more workable if one plane was a blade instead of serrated.

Works great. Perfect for the job. Knife is nice and sharp. Spoons get all the extra fruit and juice out of the grapefruit. Just like the ones I remember my grandparents using.

I thought the grapefruit knife alone was a great buy even with-OUT the two serrated grapefruit spoons that came with it, but they trio is nice looking AND sturdy! This was a good deal.

I've just added grapefruit to our diets, and the biggest drawback on eating grapefruit is how difficult it is to scoop it out of it's peel! These spoons have a good knife-like ridge on the side to cut out segments, and the knife is long enough to slide under the segments and release the fruit. They were just what I wanted and get used on a regular basis. I've had no problem putting them in the dishwasher.

The spoons are fine, but the knife broke the first time I went to use it. I give the spoons a 5 and the knife a 1 star...so I averaged it to a 3 star review.
