This Thumb Stud Works!
I received a Benchmade Mini-Taggedout knife as a gift, but I had trouble using the slit on the top of the blade to open it, so I installed a brass Kwik Thumb Stud. Well, the knife looks garish enough with its orange handles, and the brass thumb stud made it look like a Mardi Gras throw, so I ordered a stainless steel Kwik thumb stud and installed that on the Benchmade. Then I installed the brass one on a 40+ year-old Gerber LST knife that was my workplace EDC back in the day. Now I can open the LST with one hand! It was easy to install both studs, and the studs stay put. Opening the knives now is so much easier. BTW, just for fun, I tried slipping the brass stud through the slit of the Benchmade blade and installing it upside-down. It fit that way, too, but I didn't like the aesthetics of it as much.

Fast and easy
I got this thumb stud for a big Voss folding hunter with ox horn scales. The ox horn version is slim and smooth so I knew it would take longer to wear a hole in my back pocket and wouldn't feel like carrying a short tire iron. Since I was a teenager I'd known how to open a lockblade folder one handed with a little thumb pressure on the blade once it was broken in. It's an invaluable skill when one hand is tied up and you need to slice something fast as you often will on the job or around the farm. The problem with the Voss was that between the smooth rounded edge ox horn grip, the well polished blade that came sharp enough to do expedient field surgery, I couldn't use my old method quickly without grave risk of amputating a couple of digits. I recalled there used to be a clip on thumb stud device years ago when I didn't need one so I got to looking. The Kwik Thumb Stud was just the device I remembered and I fired off an order for one in classic brass. After I found the right spot for optimal leverage on a 4 inch blade I was ready to start packing the Voss daily. Made me feel like a kid again. Must be that second childhood they talk about.

Grab one now, these are terrific
A few years back, I picked an old Buck 112, with the plan to make it my EDC work knife. It had a broken blade, so I sent it off to Buck for a replacement. It came back in amazing condition. However, it was a bit stiff for one and operation. so it sat in a drawer for a few years.Until I happened to run across this Thumb Stud on Amazon. Thought I would buy one and give it a try. I am so happy I did.It makes my old 112 perform like a new knife. One handed is no problem. I had been concerned the Thumb Stud might make the 112 feel bulky in my pocket. That hasn't been the case at all, it isn't really noticeable at all. I had worried the stud would loosen and be a problem, that hasn't happened, it's still rock solid.I'm probably going to pick up another for my old Buck 110.

Good Stud
Fit my Buck 110 perfectly. Easily tightened and easy to adjust for the perfect fit. Once I found a comfortable spot for it I noticed it does not interfere with the sheath. Well made and feels solid. Will use a dab of lock tight once I find the final mounting spot.

Works for QSP Workers Knife!
Used this on my Workers knife because it lacks a thumbstud and this fits perfectly and allows me to open it up with one hand now.Purple or Blue Loctite recommended so you don't lose your investment!

INCLUDED HEX WRENCH DOES NOT WORK
this would be a 5 star rating if the product did not almost cause me to severely cut my finger. the included hex wrench DOES NOT tighten the bolt all the way down. once the bolt contacts the blade the hex wrench stops turning the bolt. it was not securely attached and when i tried to open the blade one handed the thumb stud slipped up and i almost cut a good amount of skin off my thumb. a weak attachment and the thin blade profile of a buck 110 do not work well together and can cause a bad injury real quick. if you buy this product DO NOT USE the included hex wrench, find another one that is better quality to securely attach the thumb stud to your knife, and if you are using a Buck 110 or other knife with a thin blade profile take extra care to make sure it is on tight and will not slip up exposing your thumb to the blade.
