While the actual product may be plant-based, the preparation of the product is definitely NOT plant based. I had purchased this hoping to make my wife a vegan cake. It requires eggs AND milk. That makes the advertising misleading at the least. There is no picture or description that it is not vegan in the preparation. If I could return it, I would. Nearly $17.00 for a cake mix that claims to be plant-based, but can't be prepared without using living beings? Ridiculous!

We LOVED this cake mix! My boyfriend has celiac disease and we've found it nearly IMPOSSIBLE to find good products of his favorite things. I surprised him for his birthday and we both agreed you couldn't even tell it was gluten free (which if you know the struggle of celiac disease then you know this is a HUGE win!) We added yogurt like the recipe called for for a "moist" cake and it was a great choice! Will DEFINITELY be buying again since this is now one of his faves! 🤗

I used this to make gf cupcakes for the 4th of July and it was wonderful. It’s nice that the red color is from vegetables not food coloring. They went pretty quick from people who don’t need to eat gf. Be careful not to overcook. It makes it spongey. Its a little pricey but it did make 24 cupcakes with it. I didn’t use any of the dairy free substitutions. Next time I will probably try using yogurt as suggested on the box. But definitely would buy again!

This is one of the WORST GF cake mixes I’ve ever used. First, the red stained everything, even though it wasn’t a chemical dye. Second, it tasted disgusting. It was dense, oily and super springy. I’ve used tons of GF cake mixes, and usually make my own from scratch. Do yourself a favor and use chocolate/vanilla GF cake mix, and get the dye free food coloring from Whole Foods on a health foods store. Or make your own from scratch. Gross. Don’t buy!

This is the best gluten free cake I’ve ever had.. so moist. My mom even liked it and she thought it was a normal cake.

I made this cake mix for my birthday and then also made a keto red velvet. The keto blew it away by far. The keto recipe had no gums in it and therefore had a perfect "crumb". This mix tasted "ok". Nothing special. If you must use a mix at least the ingredients are fairly healthy. But go with making all things from scratch if you can - WAY better flavor, texture, and good health!

Only product complaint is it says it’s vegan but they literally just mean the mix, not the ingredients it requires to go into the mix to bake the cake. I’m allergic to egg so I’m always on the lookout for mixes that don’t call for eggs, and I got very excited when they said vegan on the box. Turns out it takes 3 eggs to bake 😞. Just a heads up to vegans and other unlucky folks with egg allergies.
