I live in southeast michigan and was at Vince and Joes fruit market when they were doing a Demo on these wonderful little cakes. They had very generous portions of the large chocolate cake to try, ooohhh so moist, chocolate, honey, nuts, all these flavors played together very nicely. They also had samples of their little cake balls, for lack of a better word, which are the size of the Lindor candy balls. They are coated with fine ground nuts on the outside, but I think it's mixed with something because it's not real crunchy, the inside layer is cake and the center is either chocolate, lemon, or walnut. My favorite is the walnut, then the chocolate and then lemon, though the lemon is very refreshing, all VERY nice mouth feel, very soft and consistant throughout. Of course the big draw here is that the main sweetener is Honey, which also acts as a preservative to keep it soft and fresh for 'many days' the lady said. Even though these gems sport plenty of honey, you don't get the heavy honey flavor, so even if you're not a fan of honey, you would still like these I'm sure. Their ingredients are all natural, no GMO's or artificial sweeteners, just a great marriage of wholesome ingredients, an old Armenian recipe I'm told. The story is quite fascinating if you go to usmarlenka.com, they have a ten minute video on their humble beginnings and how they've grown, never compromising old fashioned goodness. I know I will be buying more, they deserve the business.
