In the heart of Scandinavia, where the northern-most tip of the Danish peninsula known as Jutland bends East and breaks the surging waters of the Kattegat and Skagerak seas, lies a small and picturesque fishing village. Its name is Skagen - the Skaw - and for connoisseurs of Northern Europe it is associated with a unique charm that is the result of the fusion of nature-given and man-made romanticism. At Skagen the elements can rage and reduce mankind to mere extras in a veritable power struggle between the sky and the sea. Here, time stands still, all sounds vanish, and nature is so compellingly beautiful that it takes your breath away. Here the perfect purity and beauty explain where Danish design found its unique qualities, and where the international company Skagen Designs found its name. In 1989, Henrik and Charlotte Jorst came to the United States from their native Denmark to follow a dream: that of owning and running their own business, to introduce the Danish lifestyle and philosophy into the lives of many. Skagen Designs was founded by these two natives of Copenhagen on the principle that beautifully designed high-quality objects can be created at reasonable prices. The Skagen Denmark Collections reflect owners Charlotte and Henrik Jorst's creative Danish spirit with clean, elegant designs, skillful craftsmanship and technical perfection. The Jorsts have a hand in designing each piece of the Skagen Collection, from watches to jewelry to sunglasses. Our mission is to create a global community of enthusiasts with our commitment to designing an impressive and unique yet attainable product. On the pulse of current fashions, this Skagen timepiece has amazing curves that hug the wrist in signature Skagen style. Sporting a smart blend of design and master craftsmanship, this watch is the definition of affordable luxury. P.when('A').execute(function(A) { A.on('a:expander:toggle_description:toggle:collapse', function(data) { window.scroll(0, data.expander.$expander[0].offsetTop-100); }); }); The Skagen brand takes its name from the fishing village of Skagen, Denmark. In keeping with a European design aesthetic, Skagen watches for men and women are sleek, elegant, and modest timepieces boasting quiet precision. Skagen’s signature watch style includes a smooth mesh band and simple dial with subtle indices. While keeping true to its minimalist heritage, Skagen continually remains on the forefront, using modern watch materials and movements. Skagen watch collections today may feature carbon fiber textured dials and titanium or ceramic bands. With a modern or classic Skagen watch, you can be sure your look will withstand the test of time. Love this watch
It gets compliments pretty frequently. I think the design has a rather minimalist look and is unlikely to go out of style anytime soon. The crystal covering the face of the watch is *much* more resistant to scratching than my last Skagen watch. The watch is rather thin, and doesn't weigh a lot. I have small wrists, and the face of this watch is fairly small as well, so it doesn't look ridiculous on me how most fad watches do at the moment. The date and time are easy to use as is the stop watch function, but I still don't know how to set the moon phase dial since it wasn't in the directions. I've had the watch for over six months now, and it looks brand new except for a small scratch it got from the corner of my granite kitchen countertop. There's also sweat stains on the inside part of the band, but it's nothing you can see unless the watch is removed. The outside of the leather band is in excellent condition. I just put some shoe polish on it once every 2 or 3 months.

Great watch for the price!
I never wore watches but I decided it's about time to get myself a nice watch that I can wear for dress up occassions. Since its arrival let's just say this watch never leaves my hand. I love the fact that it is sleek and classy, the crystal glass is highly scratch resistant. Working at an office I sometimes bump it on edges of cabinets and tables I yet still have to see a scratch on it.The leather band is genuine leather and high quality. After 4 months some of the shine is starting to wear due to resting my hands while type on the table all the time, but I am assuming I should replace the leather band every 2 years or so to keep it fresh. (if anyone has an idea how to protect it better please reply). The real reason I bought this watch is due to the moon phases. I am an avid fisherman and knowing the position of the moon affects the fishing. For the price I thought it was a unique quailty that distinguishes me from other watches at the office.Overall I love Skaggen watches, great product, the quality is superior to similar priced watches (from what I noticed around the office)

Revised Review
********* Revised Review*************So when my husband had to change the date from Feb. 28th to March 1st, he discovered that there's no way to advance the date without advancing the moon phase as well. So to put it another way, if it was a full moon on Feb 28th, changing the date to March first would now show that the moon was three days past full. The universe DOES NOT work that way :). Reaching out to Skagen, he was told that "The moon phase is not meant to be an accurate depiction of the shape of the moon in the sky"! So how is that a moon phase watch? Anyway, after moving up a level to a supervisor, Skagen stepped up and is replacing the watch with a different model of his choice. Good job Skagen! (But don't buy this watch)***********************************************************Was a Hannukkah gift and the hubby loved it! Great style, size and was also a great price! Very happy I bought it.
