TevaMen's Katavi 2 Slide Sandal

Second Update: Too large and growing - thrown away
Updated twice. I have taken away stars. I would not recommend these to anyone. ...which is a shame, because they "seem" nice.I wonder if they are made in different places, or something. One reviewer mentions that they will not stretch. My experience is that they do nothing BUT stretch.I don't know what it is with these and my feet, but the tops are always loose so my toes end-up at the very end of the sandal, even when they are brand new --- and THAT is if I order a size smaller than I wear in other TEVA shoes. I'm 5'10" 180lbs and wear a size 10 D shoe. Since I bought these in size 9 (previous experience with Katavi), you'd think they would be snug. They aren't!Second update: I decided to just wear them to fill my bird feeders and things like that; where the fit isn't important. I got them wet in the dew on the grass. They got even more stretched-out. Now I can't keep them on my feet. It requires effort to keep them on my feet and they have become a tripping hazard. They have gone in the garbage because wearing them is worse than wearing my old pair.My "10" foot recently required a 10 1/2 sized Brooks shoe. In a Sperry I needed a 9 1/2. My Hoka shoes are 10s. These, at size 9, are far, far, far too big for my "size 10 foot." (Obviously, my "10" could be anything from a 9 to a 10 1/2.)

love them but I think these are a little bit bigger than what the size chart shows for the sizing
Edit: I actually realize that these run a little big so I got out the tape measure and the size 8 that I received is 11 in from heel To toe when the description on the sizing chart says 10 inches from heel To toe,. When I first got these I'm like oh yeah these pretty good but then I start to notice they kind of want to slide off your feet sometimes and how much extra room I really had. So these really aren't side correctly I guess..... besides that they're very very nice so I might need to get a size smaller I don't know.Original review:I can't quote on how durable these are going to be yet, if I have any problems with them I will edit this review and let you all know but so far I'm really enjoying these.the footbed itself was a little harder than I would have expected at first but walking around on them for a little while they start to feel a bit more squishy so they might need broken in a little bit. The footbed might be a little bit stiff but the tread is very squishy. What I mean by that is I stepped on a pretty decent sized piece of gravel and I can barely feel that I stepped on it so the atrend must have like squished around it. that's exactly the kind of thing I would expect from like an outdoor hiking type of shoe or whatever. Overall they seem very comfortable overall. they look like they're extremely well-made, they've got big thick tread on the bottom. I usually wear a size 8 or a size 9 depending on the brand of the shoe,. I ordered these in the 8th after looking at the sizing chart and they fit just perfect, from my heel to the toe my foot's about nine inches and three quarters in size 8 it's just right. when I slide my foot in there might just make sure I slide it up all the way in the Aryan my feet seem to stay put very well the top doesn't seem to be rubbing any blisters on the top of my feet or anything. So far so good except.......I ordered dark brown ones and Amazon sent me the light gray ones,. I'm looking at the order right now and I definitely ordered the dark brown ones, somebody screwed up big-time,. Big time but I'm fine with the gray ones, I just thought the darker color looked a little more manly LOLif I happen to have any issues with these I'll make sure to edit the review and let you guys know I read a lot of reviews on these even outside of Amazon it sounds like these are super durable Wwll made sandals.

Waste of money
Tried these on and they felt fine for fit. I them wore them for a day around the house and I found that they use rought nylon cloth instead of leather across the top of the arch. Both arches were rubbed raw within hours. Cloth is tough; does not soften and does not stretch. In the meantime my wife threw away the box they came in. Stuck with them. Will throw them out. Waste of money. Also, the innersoles are very tough and don't cushion.

A hair larger than expected
I own other Teva Katavi Slides. On the left is a Size 9; on the right is a Size 8. I typically wear an 8.5 wide shoe. In the summer I wear the 8's Katavi 1 without socks and in the winter I wear the Katavi 1 9's with socks and it all seems to work out. I bought the Ketavi 2 Size 9 due to COVID and spending so much more time at home. I wanted to make sure I had a 2nd pair of sandals around the house.I found the Katavi 2 size 9 to be larger than expected so my feet tend to slop around a bit more than expected. The arch support (yes, I have plantar fasciitis) in the Katavi 1 seems much better than the Katavi 2.Bottom line: Something in the Katavi 2 design seemed to be looser or larger than expected. The quality and tread traction, especially stepping out into Wisconsin snow on the driveway, appears to be the same. It's easily washable in the shower with extra hot water without shrinkage or de-lamination. I would stick with the shoe size you need and next time I would probably buy 8's for my 8.5 feet.

Nice slide in Sandals
Honestly, I think they are a bit overpriced, but they were the only pair I could find in the style I wanted. That being said. They are Very comfortable. I read the reviews and I noticed it said they came a bit large. I wear a 10 1/2 , but i ordered 10 just in case. So happy I did. Still have room to spare. I might order another pair in another color. Even if I think there overpriced.

They are much bigger than their size would indicate
I have been wearing size 13 Teva sandals for over 15 years. I have three brand new pair of their leather sandals in my closet so that I always have new sandals of the same size and quality when my current pairs wear out. These Teva Men's Katavi sandals are marked 13 but are much too big and fully one inch longer than three different pairs of size 13 Teva that I have. Further, the leather strap is already loose and would only become looser with wear. I can not wear these because they would be dangerously big and loose. When you return them, you are charged for returning defective goods.

Sturdy, high quality item
It is a sturdy, high quality item, exactly like in the photos. I used the previous one for ten years, the most convenient slippers I ever had! Highly recommended!!!

Well made comfortable sandals
Finally I found sandals that look like they are going to last and are comfortable. I wear them at home so that means every day. The previous ones from different brands would start to fall apart after a month of wear. So far these are holding up well. They are pricey a but worth it.
