DERNORD Tri Clamp Foldback Heating Element

Heats 8 gallons at a rate of approximately 1.0 degree F/minute. It would be nice if it heated a little quicker but at least I don’t have to rewire my garage for 220V. Can’t beat the price and convenience of 120V. I had to bend one of the heating elements in order for it to clear the inner HERMS coil on my HLT brew kettle. I tested it the other day and it works as expected. I was able to maintain a temperature of 153F in the HLT using an Inkbird IPB-16S PID controller. The 2 in tri clamp fitting is great as well.

If you use this in junction with a SCR controller you can tune the element to continuously run at the temperature you want. If set you with PID you can set the temperature and forget about it cause it will self maintain. Do not operate element outside of liquid. If you use it always have the element side in some form of liquid even when testing it

THIS HEATING ELEMENT IS OUTSTANDING AND VERY DURABLE.

Item works fine just couldn’t have enough power and I couldn’t find how to return it in the return date stopped on August 4 four days late. I ordered another one, but I would’ve liked to send this back for $40 $40.

Very easy to use

This heating element works great in my rims tube. Its well made and the fit and finish are excellent.

Received it in good condition. It fit the instillation port and it works.
