Got this for a friend who loves elephants. The box arrived so that I could open it and check out the pieces... so I put the puzzle together first.... you know, to make sure all the pieces where there. ;)I too love putting puzzles together while I watch TV. This was a fun build. I like the wooden pieces and how they are cut in non-traditional shapes. The quality was good and the pieces slide into place with a tactile satisfaction. My only suggestion that some of the pieces be ‘Easter eggs” by being identifiable shapes that other wooden puzzles do. No biggie nor deal breaker tho. I ended up buying the owl by the same company to give to another friend.... and have “checked” it for missing pieces too. ;) Yup, they are all there.The price is excellent for these types of wooden puzzels. I just wish they came up with more designs... as I have more friends. So far I have only found the owl and elephant. To be fair, I have not searched further than Amazon tho.

I noticed a lot of people commenting about the burn marks and was hesitant to order, but I wanted to try a wooden puzzle. I can't see spending an exorbitant amount of money on a puzzle so I decided to give this a try. All-in-all, it's a nice puzzle and my overall experience has been positive.The box it comes in is a nice sturdy box and was sealed with two of those clear, plastic stickers. The pieces are in a zipper style plastic bag inside and there is a picture & diagram of what the finished product should look like. It's a very small picture (smaller than a computer mouse) and the diagram on the back is helpful so you can identify the pieces by shape.

This is the first wooden puzzle I've experienced.Decorative Elephant is a small, random-cut, wooden jigsaw puzzle. It has rich colors printed on thick, lightweight wood, though it does catch a glare. Some of the pieces have singe marks from the way that they were cut, and the pieces have a roasted wood scent. It didn't bother me, but I thought it was worth mentioning. I never thought a piece went where it didn't.The pieces come in a resealable plastic bag, with a small poster that shows a small complete image of the puzzle on one side and a diagram of where the pieces go on the other side. The box is small and made of thick cardboard, which I like. However, the only image of the puzzle on the box is on a sticker on the bottom. The details on the box seem to be on paper glued onto the cardboard, which has lifted up a bit on the corners for me. It was also less easy to open the box than I'd like, since the bottom of the lid is flush with the bottom of the bottom box. Since the box is so small, and the puzzle so light, I think it'd be easier to open if the top box stopped a little before the bottom of the bottom box, creating a lip.I bought the hartmaze Owl puzzle along with this one and will be trying it as well. I liked this puzzle and will get more when another appeals to me, but I hope their box styling improves in the future.

We had a great time putting this puzzle together! Don't let the size fool you. The intricate colors and unique shapes gave itenough of a challenge to keep us engaged.Finished product is beautiful. The only downside was there are some dark areas ( looks a little burnt) on the lighter color pieces that look like it came from the cutting process.

The puzzle is small, but it's 100% uniquely shaped pieces. It is a lot of fun and much more affordable than most whimsy wooden puzzles. My only complaint is there was some discoloration where the laser cutter had gotten a little too hot, but it didn't take away from the enjoyment of this puzzle. I hope the company makes more like this. I've already bought one of their other ones and enjoyed it too.

Ahhh - elephants! A very nice puzzle, and I am pleased with the result. Pieces were cut with care and fit well. I was bemused with comments by some reviewers who referred to “charred marks”. I found that the tusks are enhanced with the bits of “brown” - I would have done the same with a bit of watercolor. Glaring white tusks, to me, would have been a distraction from the rest of the elephant. Think of old piano keys that have aged. Ah, well ... each to their own taste. Thank you, Hartmaze, for your fine work.

This was such a fun and surprisingly engaging and challenging puzzle... even with it's size.A nice change of puzzle pace from the same boring shapes of "normal" puzzles.Love puzzles or know someone who does? You gotta get this one?Yes there are minor discoloration on some white areas due to the lazer cuts smoke... but honestly... anyone complaining about it is just being a Karen.

This is not a regular jigsaw - it’s very challenging. The picture that comes with it doesn’t help because the colours are not the same as on the puzzle pieces. Excellent feeling to finish it though.

入院している。父へプレゼントしました。2ピース無くしてしまった様ですが、木でできていて、厚みがあり、何度も作る事が出来るので、時間をかけて楽しんでます。

5mm程度の十分な厚さがある木製パズルで、エスニックでカラフルな柄と他ではなかなかみられないピースの独特のカットの形で、大人の自分でも終始楽しめました。171ピース(説明書より)で、見本の図柄が小さくて見づらいものの、特に不都合はありませんでした。出来上がりの形もいいし、こういうパズルをもっと増やして欲しいです。牙の部分はうまく真っ白に色付けはされていませんが、これは木部に白ペイントするとよく起こる現象で、白インキの成分によって溶けだした木自身の茶色成分が混じり合った結果だと思います。真っ白にするには乾燥させてから何度も上塗りする必要があるので、そうなると価格もこれでは収まらないのではないでしょうか。なので外部的な汚れではなく、むしろ木製の風合いを表現している色で、私は好感が持てます。また、私の場合はピースの欠けや割れはありませんでした。

ふつうのジグソーパズルだとまれに、本来違うピースでもしっくりくることがありますが、このパズルにはそれがないのでいいです。レーザーで切り取っているのか、白い部分に焦げのような汚れがありますが、他の方の写真を見ても同じところにあるので作る過程でどうしてもなってしまうように思います。どのレビューにも「キバの汚れ」についてかかれているので、そういうものだと思っていたので星5です。見本の画像が小さく荒いのでどこの模様か判断するのが難しい所があります。見本の裏にはピースの並びが印刷されているので低学年のお子さんはこれを見ながらやれば出来るかと思います。大人には簡単になってしまうので見ないことをおすすめします。数時間で出来たので、500ピースくらいのものがあればいいな～と思いました。厚みが5ミリもありしっかりしてるので繰り返し遊べるので嬉しいです。ほぼ左右対称な絵ですが、ピースは全て違う形なので良いですね～。ふくろうバージョンも買おうと思います。

厚みのある木製ピースなので、専用フレームを販売して欲しい。市販の物とサイズが合わず、壁掛けにすると中でズレ下がるので工夫が必要。
