Girls with Tools unite! I have an older, hand me down tiger river spa. I sank 500 bucks into it last year to fix a small broken piece of tubing. I had ordered all the parts to fix it myself, but found It was impossible for me to get my hands into the machine to get at the area. Those parts were about 20 bucks. I had to hire a dude from a spa fix-it company to get in there with the proper tools..that tech. told me he had to replace the entire motor to do this job. I didn't know any better, and couldn't do it myself. THIS time, I did more research. THAT tech broke the screw down split nut and it continued to deteriorate over the year until it too needed replaced. I was not about to call this person again, and was not about to sink another grand into a nearly 20 year old tub. Figured I'd give this part a try. I bought a 14 dollar oil change wrench to get the old part off, couldn't actually do that so slid it up the hilt of the pipe and left it there. Installation of this new part was a total breeze. All told, 25 bucks in parts, two days of fretting I couldn't do it and would have to buy a new tub, and ten minutes of just going for it. Tub runs absolutely perfectly now. If this holds up another three years, I'll be happy. GO TEAM GIRL TOOL! Go youtube helper videos and go this part! Hoorah!

Eventually the unions on your pool will leak. These things are a serious life saver. Just cut the old union nuts off and put these in place. No leaks and easy.

I found a helpful Youtube video that showed me how to replace a busted salt cell union without cutting pipes. This was it! I cut the old union off and put this one on and now have NO LEAKS! All I needed was a screw driver. The split design allows it to go over the end of the pipe with ease. This product seriously saved me over $200 in repair from the pool company.

Wasn't sure if this would fit, since the last split nut I bought had a flange that was too big. But, I took a chance (and figured I'd return it holding the vendor responsible if it didn't fit since the info wasn't immediately available.)That said, for those looking for this info - the nut is 3.4" OD without the screw ears, 3.95" with the screw ears; 1.5" wide, 2.75" ID at its minimum (what would grab the flange of the pipe without the threads); 2.85" ID at the threads (taking into account the threads, the OD of the threads on the pipe would be approximately 3.1").Just took off one star because the dimensions weren't available in the description or by asking.

I had a hairline crack on my OEM Pentair high temp union. I needed to replace just the union nut. I came across this item and the concept of a split union coupling vs cutting my 2" pipe and getting new everything. This was a 5 minute fix and I can confirm it works with OEM Pentair unions. Excellent product! Just make sure you get the correct part (different threads and sizes) and tighten the screws AFTER you have hand tightened the nut.

This union fit perfectly, installed easily, but the issue is that the plastic is too flexible so when I try to tighten it (hand tighten only) as soon as it gets to the point where it should get snug and tight - it skips a thread and becomes loose again! I can't make it tight enough to not leak because it keep skipping a thread. I can actually see the collar flex as it skips. The collar I removed was so hard/rigid I had to cut it in 2 places with a tool just to get it off, it had ZERO flexibility to it at all. I was hoping to not have to redo all my piping and use this split ring, but it's just not going to work unfortunately.

I had a cracked union on my salt cell. I am not a plumber so this was a quick, easy fix. Simple to install and the seal seems good. Even if it only lasts a season, it is a huge win.

I recived a diferrent product, not like the one in the picture, product does fit on a 2 inches union male but the rear lip is too big and doesn't fit into the adapter.

The part is ok, but I received something different from the picture. Inside diameter was obviously larger than the one showed. I had to modify it to make it fit the pipe, cutting the wider lip inside.
