The sound and smell of fresh ground coffee in the morning is FANTASTIC! I’m hooked forever. This pot is worth the price. I hated up the mess of grinding coffee grounds and loading them. This pot lets me keep a good supply of fresh beans a couple days ahead. A few tips: READ THE DIRECTIONS or get someone to help with this pot. It has a 24 hour clock only. No getting a preset for P.M. instead of A.M. It recommended MEDIUM ROAST not Dark. You can also adjust the strength! I LOVE IT. Never going back to pods or pre ground coffee ever again! That’s not a problem for me. It will stay on and warm coffee for no longer than 120 minutes. So if you want to turn back on, TURN GRIND OFF, then turn pot to on. Only things is the water reservoir could be wider as pouring must be precise. Pot is big so I may remedy turning the pot halfway around by purchasing a lazy Susan (swivel). I donated my large pod pot to a local school’s teacher’s lounge. My kids discovered on their last visit that my pot was undeniably THE BEST EVER!

To say that I am disappointed, frustrated and upset with Gevi is an understatement. We purchased this Grind and Brew coffee maker (model DCMBO-BKOA1) in September of 2025. Right out of the gate it showed signs of trouble. Its microprocessor computer chip would frequently “lose its mind” and reset the settings, or start blinking all the lights blue, and the clock would reset to 1200 and flash incessantly. Because we do not use the auto-brew function we dealt with it…but we probably should have returned it for a full refund then. By May of 2026 it had degraded to the point where it started leaking water from some undisclosed location inside the machine. This was clearly the fatal flaw and kiss of death for the machine. An internal water leak in an electrical component is a recipe for disaster, so we contacted Gevi to begin the warrantee repair or replacement process. And Gevi is NOT an easy company to get in touch with…’just leave a message and hope for a response’. Their hours of operation are limited, and they are on the west coast, and we are on the east coast. After a number of communications, including photos and videos of the faulty unit, After promising an equivalent replacement, Gevi then claimed they no longer make this model and offered to replace it with a much cheaper Gevi Espresso machine. Since the replacement process had taken so long to get rolling we had already purchased another coffee maker so we were willing to accept the Gevi Espresso machine compromise. To make matters worse, when we received the Espresso machine we immediately noticed it was a used machine as evidenced by all of the dried coffee grounds and stains. It needed to be cleaned and sanitized for sure, and it did not have any of the components listed on the “what’s in the box” list. Nor did it have any instructions. And just when we thought it couldn’t get any weirder, when we confronted Gevi about this they asked us to ‘thoroughly clean’ the machine and plug it in to see if it works! At this point we had had enough of this insanity and simply requested a refund. Even if we had attempted to comply with this latest crazy request, we didn’t have all the components nor did we have any instructions. We had done everything they had asked up until this point but now we were done with them. Clearly the grind and brew coffee maker that we originally purchased was an inferior product…and the used replacement espresso machine they sent was probably also inferior because it had already been returned by another customer. And dealing with Gevi’s customer support was a nightmare as well. I would give Gevi a 0 rating but Amazon does not have a rating that low.

A long-time Cuisinart customer, I bought this to replace a Cuisinart with a burr grinder. The Gevi is far superior and results in much better tasting coffee. It's quieter too. I'm not sure if the difference is in how the grinder functions or in the settings, but the taste difference is phenomenal -- much smoother and richer. I wanted a coffee maker that's easy to clean, makes less noise and produces a great-tasting beverage. This checked all my boxes.

I had a problem with the first two this one is working like a charm. I’m glad I didn’t give up on this company. It grinds the coffee to what fineness you want. The taste is rich. I highly recommend this one.

Nice combo of grinder and coffee maker. Has a lot of different settings - powder amount, grind level and brew strength- to adjust to your preferred coffee strength and flavor. I added some small appliance casters to the bottom to make moving it on the counter to fill it up (the water reservoir access is from the back) easier as the included feet don’t slide. The grinder is a bit loud but fine otherwise. The filling area is narrow and at the back as mentioned above and you have be careful when adding water to do so kind of slowly otherwise the the carafe spills water all over. Decent value for your money I think and saves counter space. Has an included reusable filter cone which is also nice but requires some water use to clean, so I don’t know if it’s a benefit ecologically vs a recycled paper filter.

This is a good coffee maker with a lot to like. Maybe I should have given it four stars, but there are two things that make it far from perfect when it comes to usability. The first is the display. The blue on black is very hard to see at a distance. The pic I've attached looks ok because i'm up close. But the real display problem is that unless you are at eye-level with the display most of the time is cutoff when viewing from a standing position right in front of the maker. I mean that is incredibly obvious and should have been redesigned. The second issue is the beans in the hopper sometimes get stuck and don’t funnel into the grinder making very few grinds and a very weak cup of coffee. When you turn on the maker, if you see the beans not moving, a little tap will get them going, but that means you can’t just press the button and walk away AND if you grind on the timer you won't be there to get the beans going. Defeats the whole purpose of using the timer. I've accepted the terrible display. And when the beans grind get into the grinder it makes a great cup of coffee. So I am keeping this, but with reservations. Just as a note I was a longtime Capresso coffee maker user. The first one with the swing, conical basket was the best and lasted a long time. The next generation, which is still available with a round basked, was also good. When that one went belly-up I ordered another one but something has changed in these makers. They grind but somehow the water doesn't steep in the grind fully and you get weak coffee and if you look in the basked, a lot of the grinds are not even wet. I tried two of these just to make sure I didn't get a lemon but they both do it. Hence, I looked for something else and tried the Gevi.

Started leaking water only 8 months after purchase

I wanted to love this coffee maker because the concept is great, but unfortunately, it has been a major disappointment. I’ve owned this machine for quite a while and have given it every opportunity to prove itself. I didn’t want to rush to leave a negative review, so I continued using it and hoping the issues would improve over time. Unfortunately, they never did. The biggest issue is the grinder. The beans frequently get stuck and don’t feed properly into the grinding mechanism. There have been multiple times when I selected a full pot of coffee only to end up with mostly hot water because the beans weren’t actually grinding. I often have to manually push the beans into the grinder, which defeats the purpose of having an automatic bean-to-brew machine. The temperature is another problem. The coffee never seems to stay at the proper brewing temperature and often ends up tasting burnt rather than fresh and flavorful. On top of that, this machine is incredibly loud. The grinder noise is excessive—so much so that it startles my dog every single time it runs. I’ve owned several coffee makers over the years, and this is by far one of the noisiest. For the price, I expected a much smoother and more reliable experience. After owning it for an extended period and giving it many chances, I can honestly say the performance has been consistently disappointing. Between the inconsistent grinding, burnt-tasting coffee, and excessive noise, I would not recommend this machine.
