Part missing
The descale pipe was missing from the bottom of the machine. This is essential for the self clean option therefore I had to source a replacement which cost me Β£12.50. Apart from that the machine worked well and it is different from my previous steam generator in that the steam keeps operating after letting go of the switch and when on a very low setting for silk etc water pours from the bottom of the iron.

Makes ironing a pleasure!
Iβve always loathed ironing and gave up on bedding years ago - that was until I found this little gem a couple of years ago! Bought on Amazonβs market place, it was an utter bargain (very slight cosmetic marks - who cares). Does what it says on the tin - breezes through ironing and is especially amazing with pure cotton and linen. Not sure Iβm even using it to its full potential - I tend to switch on and go. Love the powerful steam and big water tank.Downsides - the entire unit is heavy and bulky to store, and I can find the locking mechanism a bit fiddly sometimes. I tried descaling for the first time last week and cannot get the pipe to stay in despite reading the instructions over and again so gave up.All in all the best iron Iβve ever had and Iβd struggle to go back to a normal steam iron.

Good value for money
In my experience all steam generators eventually pack up. I tried a few different brands and most of them were really expensive. I do not know if it is the way I use the machine or the way I look after it although I have always followed the instructions to the point. Once I realised this, I started buying cheaper versions like this one. It works just as well and the price is much lower than the other brands. My steam generator however did break down after two years and I had to purchase another one. If you buy these kind of machines you should know that it will not last you for many years. As I said it is only my personal experience.

Not Fit For Purpose, Had to Return
After many years of happy steam generator ironing with my trusty Tefal, it finally packed in so I decided for my next purchase to try something different. Big mistake. Went for this Morphy Richards because it was cheap and fairly well reviewed. This was not my experience. The first picture shows me trying to iron my pillowcases and resulting in them being soaked. Had to to turn down the heat to avoid the iron sticking to the ironing, but noticed the iron was leaking water from the sole plate at this low temperature. Turned up the steam to max to try to resolve but it only leaked more, as demonstrated in picture 2, with the cradle quickly filling up with the leaking water.Turned off the steam completely on my next attempt to iron, trying to use the product as a dry iron which is apparently a feature. This resulted in lots of white sediment being spewed onto the clothes as you can see from picture 3. Reintroduced the steam and the water started soaking the clothes again as in picture 4.At this point I wondered what on earth I could be doing wrong with the product as none of the reviews I could find were mentioning any of these issues, I even posted a question to ensure it was in the fact the product and not me, and yes everybody responded that they had had none of these issues which confirmed my belief that this must just be a faulty one. I mean to be fair it's not like I am new to steam generator ironing or had never operated one before, but when you are suddenly faced with these problems you do wonder if it's you.So I contacted Amazon who promptly arranged a return, and to be fair they were very on the ball and took the faulty product back and issued a refund quickly and painlessly. With the refund I purchased the newer version of my previous Tefal Steam Generator - and aaaaahhhhhh peace to my world has been restored, no more soaking wet clothes and a return to gliding through the ironing quickly and without incident is so very welcome. Lesson learned - buy cheap, buy twice. When you get on well with a product sometimes you are better just to stick with it rather than striking out to try something different, the saving is definitely not worth the hassle. That has been my experience with steam generators. Hope it helps someone out there xx

Good iron - fiddly start
I am pleased with this iron, bought is as a replacement for my old Morphy Richards iron which lasted for many years. I quite like the fix feature which fixes iron to the steam base. It warms up quickly and irons well. Still quite new so can't comment on the reliability. One thing I am struggling with is the "start" button. You have to press it for iron to start heating and I still can't work out the longevity of keeping the button pressed, it's really inconcsistent. So it's a bit like a lottery whether it will switch on or not, The rest of functionality is fine.

Fast ironing and a good sized water tank
Love the way the steam keeps coming and it powers through cotton superking sized sheets and duvets. I don't use it for everyday ironing as it is heavy to lift from where I store it but when it is needed it really does reduce ironing time. It is also reliable, still going strong over a year after purchase, easy to descale ( it tells you when it is time) and I use my NORMAL ironing board - absolutely no need for anything else. I balance it on my worktop and have the ironing board right next to it.

Bit disappointed
It was good while it lasted, but unfortunately the water tank has broken, as steam coming out from the bottom, less than 5 years in. I've had cheaper irons that lasted longer.
