you must either know the long or the short form and preform it with out stopping from start to finish. Also, you must know and practice sitting and standing meditation once you know these practices only then will you be able to use this book. This book explores the world of internal function and how to start really getting involved into and what chi and jin are.This book gives the reader detailed uses but lacks good instruction in their Wu style qigong form. Their pictures and explanation good be a lot better.

Not too difficult to learn. It helped that the form was short. Aided me during a health recovery period and the results were felt sooner than I had expected. Truly remarkable.

In depth and accurate

Five stars because the book distills the history of the Wu style and explains the differences in its various versions, e.g., Northern Wu and Southern Wu. The info on Cheng Tin Hung is superb if somewhat incomplete. Chia's discussions of the nei kung specific to the Wu style strikes me as only partly correct but he gets an A for effort and for discussing info that's nearly impossible to find elsewhere. He doesn't explain the nei kung and his references to his other works that supposedly do explain it are fine but, in my view, the way he approaches the exercises is usually very, very different from the way the Wu family teaches them. This book won't teach you the form, even the abbreviated version in the book but if you're a Wu stylist, this is a great book to have on the shelf, even if you disagree with some of the content.
