Good swimming pool cover pump, clogs fairly easy
I use this to drain the accumulated rain water on top of my above-ground swimming pool cover in the winter. The pump works fine. It's not as fast as I thought (and a lot of water can accumulate on top of the pool cover) but I'm also not too worried about running it dry before I come back to unplug it. I know that running it dry is not good, but I've let it go unintentionally for a few hours and it doesn't seem to be affected. I suspect that is because it is a small pump, it's sitting on top of cool water, and it's cool outside. I wish it didn't clog as easily. It has a sponge-like filter and leaves/debris mat against it and slow it down to a stop pretty easily. I just have to be sure to clean off the top fairly well before I run the pump. If it's on and clogged, shaking the pump a few times underwater seems to get it going again. Not a big deal, but this is not a pump that is going to suck in leaves and chop them up as they go through the impeller. I use a little exercise hand weight to keep it under water and create a depression in the pool cover where the water on top will flow.

Works as advertised.
Takes a short time to empty my 13 gallon fountain. Attach a hose to water your plans while at it.

Good for the price
It works good, just very slow if you have much water.

Exactly what I needed
For the price this works great emptied my pool cover fast. The only thing I don’t like is that it doesn’t shut off when water is gone. For the price it’s great

Bottom intake not ideal
We bought this to drain the water from our pool cover but there’s also debris on the cover so the bottom intake gets clogged easily. Otherwise it worked fine, just not an ideal design for draining pool covers.

Bad pump, good idea, though!
It works, but it pumped out a pathetic trickle, not even close to the 350 GPH it promises, at least in my case. I can see it working (potentially) with a really shallow pool of water, like a puddle in the driveway with a really short hose, but it was sold as a pump specifically to pump off the excess water off of a pool's winter cover: you need a longer hose and the water, at least mine, at a foot deep over a 15 x 30 pool, is too much for this little thing, and it is deceptively small, probably 1/3 the size of a small sump pump, which for the price (I paid over $80) does slow but much more substantial job than this. The design is good because it can sit in a really shallow pool of water (upright), but it's kind of too light, too, so as the water gets deeper, just the weight of the hose lifts it out of the water. The pump sits on the flat bottom piece (it isn't secured with threading or a lock of anything), and I was forever fiddling with it to get it to stay on while I wrestled it to where I needed it to be on my cover. It's better idea than it is a pump. It needs to be much more powerful, and it needs to have more of the weight at the bottom, so it holds the thing upright. The power cord is very long, though, and I didn't get shocked, so it is safe to use in or around water, so at least they got those right!

Do yourself a favor and get a real pump so you dont get old waiting
I bought this to empty my pool cover.. it took 3 days and had to be cleaned multiple times because it kept getting clogged or shifting positions unti it wasnt facing water. If i had known this, i could've paid my 9 year old with a plastic bucket to empty the water faster. This pump sells on aliexpress for 3-13$ and is not worth a penny more. My only regret is ordering it & not returning it. If you have an aquarium, or a kids pool it might be more suitable

POWERFUL MY BUTT!!!
This thing drains soooooo slow! Don’t buy it! 350 GPH is for aquarium, not a swimming pool cover!I used it to drain the water on the pool cover after the snow melt, it has been a whole freaking week! The job is still not done!!buy a sump pump to do the same job for the same money, in a few hours not a week

Lacks Adequate Power and bulk to drain efficiently
It is much smaller than I expected and does not seem s live up to expectations. The main problem is that it drains very slowly. It also has difficulty staying upright because of its lack of weight and consequent high center of gravity. I had to keep a close eye on the pump which is very inconvenient.
