3D Lamb Cake Pan

Works well. Used two seasons now with GF cake. It’s fun Easter tradition to decorate. Always a hit.

The Nordic Ware 3D Lamb Cake Pan is a fantastic choice for anyone wanting to make a charming, visually impressive lamb-shaped cake. The heavy-duty cast aluminum construction ensures even baking and excellent heat distribution, which I really appreciate. The detail in the mold is beautifully done, capturing the wool texture and facial features perfectly. The size is generous enough for family-sized cakes, and the non-stick coating makes removal easy with minimal sticking if you grease properly. Cleanup is straightforward as well, just a simple hand wash. The pan’s solid feel and durable build make it clear this is a product built to last.

This pan was wonderful! It did everything I hoped it might - baked a perfect 3D lamb cake. The cake was baked through completely and evenly, the pan was easy to prepare and to clean by hand afterward, and it stores neatly with my other cake pans. I did a lot of reading before attempting the feat since this was my first attempt using this 3D pan. Covering every nook and cranny with vats of BAK-RS J-Y spray, opting for a homemade and sturdy buttermilk pound cake recipe and using string to tie the pan halves snugly together during baking helped a lot, but it was no less important to allow the cake to rest and cool before removing the back pan. Rest and cool before removing the front. And adding wooden skewers to the cake batter before baking in a crisscross pattern to stabilize the head and ears ensured I wouldn't end up with a little lopsided lamb. I did trim the minimal pan seam along the base just a little so the cake could stand upright, but because I had to transport it, I opted to lay the completed cake on a soft bed of Peeps then garnish it with plenty of edible grass. I was pleased with the quality of the pan and with the speediness of the delivery. Oh - it arrived in a padded bag, not a box, so I was concerned., but there were no problems with damage en route. I would - and probably will - buy this again as a gift and so I can make a flock of buttermilk and chocolate lamb cakes!

Ok, so it's NOT easy to demold your cake from this pan. You don't want to just use regular baking spray, you need to put Crisco all over AND put flower over the top of that if you want this to come out of the pan nicely. Also let it cool completely of the odds of ripping the ears off is much higher. There's basically a 50/50 chance it looks like a cute lamb or the reanimated zombie corpse of a farm animal... But isn't that half the charm of a lamb cake? Overall would recommend, it's a pretty fun cake mold.

A great pan. The two halves line up well, no overflow. Using a boxed pound cake mix, the cake held the pan details. Even the ears didn't break off. The bad decorating is my fault, but the pan was great.

Yup! It's a lamb. Just like when I was a kid! Minor seam on the bottom can be trimmed off with a knife to sit upright (a little frosting keeps it in place). Hand wash, no dishwasher. Was able to make a gf pound cake for our needs. No leaking and the pan's material is easy to hand wash - just don't use anything abrasive. Disregard the missing cake by the butt; husband pinched a little off.

Purchased this lamb mold to relive a childhood memory. I really wish I still had my mom’s original mold so that took me first to Etsy to see what could I find. It was comical to see how many people were trying to pass off brand new molds as vintage. Once I realized brand new molds were being sold i just went to Amazon. Once I received my mold I baked a lamb cake for Easter. I used my Great Aunt’s lamb cake recipe that gives specific instructions on how to bake in the mold. Then based on other Amazon reviews I went ahead and slather the inside with Crisco. I think this was one of two problems. Once baked the cake came out of the mold with no issues. However the cake had an awful greasy, crunchy crisco/dusted flour taste. Second mistake, my oven is a Chambers brand from the 1940s and it gets hotter than a typical oven. I should have reduced the temperature or baked it for less time. Needless to say I believe the mold works well, the problems were a me problem not an it problem. Next year I won’t wait to bake the cake on Easter morning.

Excelente producto. Llegó muy rápido y funciona muy bien. Trae un recetario para usarlo. Un tip es amarrar ambas partes del molde para que el pastel crezca correctamente.

This cake pan appears to be used as there are scratches and grease and it did not come with any sort of Nordic wear labels and looks to be cheaply shrink wrapped. This looks secondhand.

Ce moule est très pratique et très beau. J'en ai déjà un autre de cette marque, leurs produits sont qualitatifs. Le gâteau est bien cuit et gonfle bien. Le moule est facile à nettoyer. Je suis contente !

I am very happy with this pan. The Easter Bunny cake came out beautifully. I have also made a gelatine dessert using this pan. Was excellent plus you can have the top to cover and store in fridge. I am very happy with this purchase. I would recommend it highly.
