I like it. It smells like your eyes will hurt though.
I bought this PRAYING it was the right size. I'm looking to make an ottoman out of a tire wrapped in it. Well, I got the right size! (I'm awesome!) I'm going to need SO much more to cover a tire though. I'm waiting to splurge later.I gave it 4 stars because it smell a bad. I think it'll fade. I hope it'll fade. But as I was inspecting it, my very polite mother walked in (without knocking) and said, "PEW! Something stinks! What IS that? Chemicals." and I was in a whole different room. It's strong. She then lectured me the kittens should be near it. The kittens eat Q-tips and carpeting every day. They're fine. They are immortal demons set out to destroy my home. Which is also another reason I'm ordering more when funds are available. I wrapped this asround the stair posts for them to scratch so they'd stop annihilating my exoerbsive furniture. They didn't, so I'm trying double sided tape, but they DID add scratching this stuff to their daily activity list between breaking every full length mirror I own and attack the televisions. It's good stuff. I think the smell is fading. It could be the cat pee smell over powering it though. I was not prepared for these flying squirrels with claws that are trying to pass as the fittest kittens you've ever seen with their little, baby, angel faces. Ugh. I just heard a crash.... It's nice stuff. I used the 5/8 thickness for my future project and cat scratcher stuff.

good rope for the money
This is a plastic, (Nylon), rope made to look like hemp rope. It was not natural fibers manila rope. It appears to be strong, and the sizing is very consistent. The only problem I had. I like to use shrink tubing on the ends to prevent the rope ends from fraying. When I apply heat to the shrink tubing I had to be very careful or the rope would start to melt too.I used the rope to hang some nautical flags in frames I built myself and it makes the nautical appearance stand out like I wanted it to. I recommend the rope for its artistic appearance.

1-1/4" x 25'
I purchased this to attach to a tree for rope climbing for exercise. The bottom of the tree branch is 13' off the ground. After making a knot and securing it to the tree branch, then adding four knots for handholds, the bottom of the 25' rope is hanging 3' off the ground. I thought I would have to trim some of the length off, but it ended up being the perfect length. In these larger rope sizes, the knots use a lot more of the rope length. 1-1/4" is a good fit for my size Large hands. Also, I didn't have any rope fibers irritating my hand as some others have reported.

Terrible smell....
The rope was much darker than shown. It also had a VERY strong smell like kerosene that made my entire apartment smell. I aired the rope out on my front porch for 24 hours, but that didn't help. On the advice of a friend, I tossed the rope in a bag with baking soda...that didn't do anything either. Since I wasn't able to get rid of the smell, I wound up tossing the rope out.

Larger Diameter than advertised
I ordered and received (because it said so on the label) 5/16. As you can see, the tightly taped end was close to 1/2 and the rest of the rope, loosed from restraining tape, was over 1/2 inch in diameter. Keep this in mind if ordering for a specific craft project, as I was. Otherwise, it was nice, rough braided rope, just as it appears

Very Poor Quality
Poor quality and packaging. I bought 1/4 inch manilla rope at a local hardware store but they did not have enough for my needs so I purchased the rest here. This rope is inconsistent in width within the same "spool", therefore does not wrap evenly - leaving gaps, and is practically unraveling by itself -- the loose fibers are so long (up to 4 inches) and it is coming apart. It does not look nearly as nice as the other one that was less than half the price (sadly that brand does not sell retail directly). The packaging made this product difficult to handle (was not wrapped in a spool as pictured) and because of the poor quality it makes a huge mess. Very disappointed.

AWFUL SMELL
It stinks so bad, I thought diesel fumes were in my house. I've sprayed with Febreze and other air fresheners and then let it sit outside... nothing works. Peroxide can get the smell of cat urine out of fabrics, but not this rope.

Exactly as described
Seller was easy to work with - returned because the rope didn't match the other rope I purchased to cover my cat scratcher post. The seller was super easy to work with and issued a full refund promptly. Would recommend the product and seller!

As advertised, but smells petroleum
Good quality, consistent diameter (which is not always the case with sisal ropes), but smells petroleum. Not to be used for inside the house.
