Excellent Book!
I really enjoyed this book! It's a very gripping saga and well written. I believe every word. As I read books on this subject, if there is no ring of truth in my heart, I put it aside and don't finish it. This book filled me with positive energy and I know in my heart it is true! I will read it multiple times.

A great reads
Ian's life experience is similar to the experience of the thief that was dying by crucifixion in close proximity to our Lord, Jesus Christ. Ian, perhaps like the thief, had lived a life filled with carnal lusts. Although we know nothing about the thief, I believe he, too, had a mother who believed in God and prayed for her son. What would have happened to Ian if his mother had not sustained her faith in Jesus Christ. Her prayers were answered, and Ian was rescued from the fearful darkness of hell. Ian found himself in total darkness. Frightened and confused, he remembered his mother and her belief in Christ. This single thought resulted in a small beam of light piercing the darkness. He was was drawn through a narrow tunnel until he reached the source of the light. Instantly, Ian was filled with indescribable feelings of unconditional love. Indeed, this pure light is powerful. The brightness made it impossible for him to see his face, but Ian knew he was embraced by Jesus Christ, the "Gatekeeper" who can open the door to paradise, aka heaven. When asked if he wanted to return to his body, he remembered his mother's prayers and her love for him. At first, he said he did not want to return, but enlightened by Christ, he chose to return to earth. He is a living testimony that God hears and answers prayers. Like the thief on the cross, Ian was "reborn." Everyone can receive enlightenment from Jesus Christ. Some day we will know the full story as to what happened to the "Ians" of the world...those who were rescued through by a prayer of a loved one. Thank you, Ian, for your beautiful testimony. My faith in Christ has been strenthened! Keep sharing your light...the more you give, the more you will recieve.

Amazing!
Just as he was dying without God, his mother in a far away place was praying for him. He followed “ The Lords Prayer” and Jesus saved him from eternity in hell. He came back to his body and terrified his doctor.

Wonderful story
I found Ian's experience to be fascinating. I prayed before I read the book that God would protect me from evil and bless me with discernment so that I might know truth from fiction. I believed every word I read, but for me there is one sure way to know if a person has truly been changed by their experience, and I don't believe that anyone could see the Lord and not be changed. To confirm that what I had read was true, I went to the products page. It was there that I read that Ian does not make money by selling his story. That was the last thing I needed for me to know that Ian is a man of his word and that His experience was real. I have never died, but I did "hear" God's voice and have a conversation with Him. Some of the things Ian experienced when communicating with Him were similar to what I experienced. In my experience I found that God has a wonderful sense of humor and He delights in His children just as we do in ours. I highly recommend this book and I pray that it strengthens your faith..

I wanted so much to believe but
I really wanted to walk away, after reading this book, believing in Ian's experience; however, after I was done reading I was left thinking two things; first, the story just had too many parts that seemed to be tied up in a "conveniently unprovable" bow and second, too many parts of the story just simply, didn't make sense. The neat little bow:1. Ian, a seasoned diver, fails to follow the holy grail of diving which states "never dive alone" (yet dives alone, at night and during an electrical storm) and when he finds himself separated from the group, decides to continue diving and is therefore the only one who sees the deadly jellyfish.2. Ian alone with a paralyzed arm and leg makes his way to a tourist hotel only to find the staff unwilling to help which again leaves no one to verify the story.3. Ian finally gets to Victoria Hospital, which is described as a "latrine" with deplorable sanitation with doctors who seem to have little concern for patients, and yet this hell hole has the anti-venom available for a jellyfish not typically native to that area of the world. What doesn't make sense:1. Why a seasoned diver, born and raised in New Zealand, wouldn't know what a box jellyfish was and the danger it poses to a person if they attempted to touch it.2. Why a cluster of box jellyfish, the size Ian described, would be swimming in the waters off the coast of Mauritius; an area not known to have the deadly form of box jellyfish Ian described.3. Why Ian has no lasting scars from the jellyfish? And no pictures of the scars.4. Why Ian's diving partner and dear friend (they were as close as brothers) would leave him to fend for himself after finding out he was in grave medical danger.Maybe if I had more time and interest in Ian and his book, I would re-read it and possibly find the answers but I don't. Or maybe the answer is staring me in the face and all the questions I have are part of the mystery of his story. If you want a cheap book and quick read, it did hold my interest. If, as I was, you are looking for answers, this might not be the place to look as I was left with more questions than answers.

First Person Experience
It is always difficult to feel like you can really imagine someone going to heaven or hell when they try to explain it to you in a story or paragraph. Even though we know there are the two places, and I know I have experienced my own - telling others doesn't always accomplish much. The message is lost unless it is done to help someone believe in the why? What is the message? Why does this matter? Is the emphasize on your or on someone else? It should be redirected back to the Bible where the real story is told.

A taste of heaven
I have been somewhat sceptical about some who say they have died and gone to heaven then returned. Indeed one story I read made heaven seem a scary place. I can indeed believe completely what Ian experienced as my grandad had a wonderful vision of heaven the week before he died. This book has given me great comfort as I lost my dear husband of almost fifty years eight months ago. He was not afraid to die as he knew the Lord Jesus as his Saviour, but I have been battered by doubts about my own faith in a way I have never been before. I know that the evil one is trying to get at me in my vulnerable state. Praise God, Jesus had the victory at Calvary and Satan knows he has lost the fight.

Disappointed
I don’t like giving negative reviews but I was not convinced by this book. I have read lots of books on NDEs and without exception I’ve really enjoyed them, this one starts well and then........looses the plot. It is very different to all the other NDE books that I’ve read and seems more like a book about Religious belief than a description of an NDE.I agree with other low star reviewers that this book isn’t convincing and reads like a fictional story. I checked at one point that I hadn’t chosen a fictional NDE story by mistake. If you are religious then this could be for you. I’m not an Atheist, I’m a very open minded person who up to now has found NDE accounts “believable” but this book all seems a bit too far fetched for me with its talking statues and demons in the night. I’d be more inclined to believe the experience was a hallunication or a reaction to medication or something and I’ve not thought this about any other NDE account that I’ve read. Glad I only paid 99p. It is a very short book which is a positive.

Readable and challenging
This is the well-documented story of how Ian McCormack was stung by deadly jellyfish, survived virtually certain death and had an experience of Heaven. Many will have seen the interviews with him on Revelation TV. It is a remarkable story and I am not surprised that a few reviewers on this site doubt its truth. He has a website called aglimpseofeternity and there is footage on it of his parents' version of events. For those who are dubious, there is also an interview with him online on skeptico in which the interviewer calls the whole thing into question and casts strong doubt on the validity of the Bible. The story is fascinating and it is very difficult to call McCormick's sincerity into question. This is a book by a Christian man who believes in God's judgement. Would he really lie? To believe the story is true, however, has far-reaching implications for non-Christians, requiring them to turn to God in repentance and faith, which is why some would like to call it fiction. The book is fairly short and very readable. Thankfully, it does not have the typos and grammatical mistakes of many other Kindle books. It is a faith-building read for a Christian and a challenging read for anyone else, particularly those on the fringes of Christian commitment. Like all anecdotal stories, it is ultimately unprovable, but it does stimulate imagination and conscience to consider what God promises to His children.

Eye opening
I read this account with the hope that it may shed some light on my experiences. Incredible as they are, Ian's encounters with Jesus and the demonic are similar to my own. I have even had encounters that were shared by people who described themselves as sceptics. They have grudgingly shifted their viewpoints since. It's undeniable that there is more to life than we know. It is important to discover the truth and to prepare ourselves for what comes next.

And dream of sheep
Little light voluminous, draw me closer to you.My life on earth is over now, I must start again anew. Now is the moment of self judgment,My wrongs must be put right. This body has seen the last of me.The day's now merge with night.I've carried many burdens, some still exist within my soul, But when I think of all the joy I've had I will again be whole.I have felt the pain through life and death, come this far,am I asleep?I do not blink and have no breath, yet I still dream of sheep.Sarah Burns . 1997.Loved this book. Gave real insight into the love of God and the evil of Satan. I wrote that poem so long ago and it's been used for so many services over the years. This book summoned up the feelings when I wrote it. The author captured heaven and hell so correctly to me. My only regret was it was not a longer read. Did the spelling in America's way. Seems most of the good books I've read on this subject recently are done with American spelling. I wanted this book to never end. Loved it.
