Brushless Motors and Controllers

I was hoping for a more general book on brushless motor theory and operation, but this often brought in focus of use in RC models. Also, I found a few errors in the book, as well as got confused between the US convention for voltage vs the European symbol convention. I was hoping this book would fill my needs without investing in a $80 to $150 book - looks like I need to make a larger investment

this book is reasonably well put together.it is a good intermediate book that bridges the gap between anintroduction book an a more advanced book.the english the way it is written is sometimes confusing butwith some thought you can figure what the author is trying to say.

Good informative book - reasonably well written. Holds interest.

The information is there but needs the help of an expert writer to organize and get the sentence structure correct to make the subject easily understandable. His definition of his audience level is variable and presentation of the concepts gets scrambled at times.

Excellent book for hobbyists and engineers. Intuitive discussion is followed by equations. As noted by other reviewers, the wording is occasionally less than perfect, but it wasn't an issue for me. It is sort of odd that an index is missing.

This book is a great introduction to brushless motors for anyone who is already moderately comfortable with basic electronics principles. It gives a full overview beginning with theory and showing many applications.Unfortunately the writing style is not perfect. Native English speakers will notice oddly structured sentences on a regular basis. It does not detract from the quality of the book though. Also, I was unable to buy this as a Kindle book in the US, so I had to use a German eBook retailer.

Heavy going for the DIY motor builder. Insufficient wiring diagrams prevent the novice from immediately understanding the principles of winding the stator coils. Will get there in the end though,......eventually !. Considering that this book is the only one on offer it is well worth the cost and the time and effort needed to understand the principles of phase shifting an AC current induced electro magnet array in order to rotate a shaft in conjunction with permanent magnets.

Claro, conciso, breve pero lo bastante riguroso incluso para un estudiante de Ingeniería. Llevo 25 años enseñando máquinas eléctricas en la Universidad y no esperaba un libro tan bien escrito, fundamentado y bien estructurado. Es apto para aficionados pero con una mínima base en electricidad y electrónica.
