Hard to beat for the price
For $25 these are excellent. They fit nicely and also happen to work inside cars with entertainment systems too (per the box). You have to realize you are using IR vs RF. RF is much better, but these are really good for IR.I have had 2 Sennheiser RS120's for several years and those are much more expensive but are excellent too. If you're willing to spend the money it is nice having rechargeable headphones (using 2 rechargeable AAA batteries). The sound quality and frequency/range is better (since the Sennheiser uses RF). Since these use IR you have to be directly in front for the best quality. I sit about 12 feet away and I have no complaints. We use these for TV in bed so as not to disturb the other while they try to read or sleep.Pros vs Sennheisers: Less expensive, battery saver when taken off, and better fit.Cons vs Sennheisers: No rechargeable battery/stand, uses IR instead of RF, and slight poorer sound quality (although still very very good).***One Month Later***Adjusted from 5 stars to 4 starsThe headphones are very good and well designed, but the IR technology itself is not. That is no fault of the manufacturer, just the type of technology selected to be used for this product to get to this price point and have the flexible uses. If these were RF, they would be an easy 5 star. They are comfortable and when the sound is working they are great. The transmitter needs to pointed right at your headphones, and you still get random moments of hiss, crackle, and pop. Even though the price is outstanding, I rather not have the noises associated with this tech. I think they would be amazing as replacement headphones for a vehicle entertainment system since you will be in tight and noise quarters. If you buy these hopefully you are not more that 10-12 feet away from your TV/Source.If I could do it over I'd buy the RF headphones again, but for $25 these were worth the shot and I'll use them.

I read the reviews and it seemed like a good product made by a responsible company
DO NOT BUY...I bought this headset 4 weeks ago. I read the reviews and it seemed like a good product made by a responsible company...WRONG on both accounts. When I set the unit up there was noticeable static coming from the left speaker...it was intermittent and Homeland was coming on so I decided to ignore the static and watch the show...the static was annoying but it was the first time this year that I was able to follow the dialogue so I threw out the packaging and keep the unit.3 weeks later it just stopped working...I contacted Amazon who referred me to the vendor...the vendor immediately offered a refund upon receiving the product "In the Original Packaging"...it was a $25 item...who keeps the packaging? When I told them I had tossed the packaging they referred me to the manufacturer...okay..I understood their position and contact Able Planet...that's where things got unreasonable...I explained that their product has stopped functioning after 3 weeks...they asked me if I had "registered" the product..when I told them that I had tossed everything they told me that there was nothing they could do for me. When I pointed out that I had a receipt from Amazon dated with 3 weeks of the present date, they reiterated that they could do nothing. When I pointed out that they could confirm the age of the product by serial number and that a purchaser should not have to "register" a new product to obtain warranty protection. To date they have refused to do anything. I have since ordered a bluetooth transmitter and would advise prospective customers to choose a different product.

Pretty poor range
I had to return the first set and Amazon return process is very easy. The headphones lost audio a very short distance from the base. I could not even sit on my bed and hear the tv. The second pair was much better but still has some issues with distance from the base. A couple of years ago I bought a low-tech wireless headphone and I could hear tv from all parts of my home, even on different floors. Not so with this type. I plan to try to find another low-tech set. Sometimes "new and improved" is not really an improvement.

Great at first, but you get what you pay for
At first I was thrilled with this headset. However, after about a month or two (maybe 20 hours of overall viewing with headset) the headset started to crackle loudly when listening to it, seemingly from nothing, or maybe a small head movement. Then a few weeks later it started cutting out completely. I would have to hold my head very still to keep it working, and even then it would cut out after a minute or two. This is all from maybe 15 feet away from the tv. This is a cheap set, so I can't say that it totally wasn't worth the money, but you definitely get what you pay for.

I would think a better transmitter could be designed economically that provides a broader ...
From the time I took the headset out of the box, the right earphone was slightly loose in the frame. I probably should have sent them back right then but I decided to give them a chance. Likely as a result of this loose connection, the right speaker frequently produces momentary static but the sound has continued to work otherwise. As others have noted, the range is limited and if I move a few feet to either side, sound is lost. I would think a better transmitter could be designed economically that provides a broader range but I guess you have to pay for that advantage.

Will Someone please recommend a better product?
my tv has no audio out I plugged in to the headphone jack and after much fooling arounf finally got sound, but only on one side and normal speakers do not work at same time must unplug from back of tv to get normal sound. Also must look straight at tv transmitter to avoid getting a clicking or bussing sound/ the headphones are huge on me at the smallest size and yet too tight on my ears. they fall off if I look down and hurt after a while. Someone please recommend a better product please
