My son really likes these boots. He needed a pair for a horse camp he was participating in and he wasn’t liking any boots he tried on. These were the only ones he was ok with, though he is still getting used to having a slight heal. I conditioned them right away and was glad I did, as the leather doesn’t seem finished and it helped protect the boot. Not necessary, but with a 5 year old who immediately went to the wet mud to play, I think it was a good decision to condition them first.These do run a bun a bit big. My son wear 12.5 in regular shoes and the 12.5 size boots I bought from this brand were too big. I would buy .5 size down if you need them to fit correctly now. Leather stretches and gives so I think I these will easily fit him for the season. I didn’t want to size up be sure loose boots aren’t comfortable to me. I would rather buy what fits now and get another pair next season.

My 5 year old LOVES these boots! He kinda the thinks he's a cowboy. He outgrew his old cowboy boots and wanted some new ones. He got these for his birthday in July. He currently wears an 11 so I ordered a 12 so he can still wear them this winter. They were even bigger then I thought they'd be but still wearable. He'll be able to wear them for a long time and hope to pass them down to his 2 younger brothers. They are good quality sturdy boots. They seemed stiff out of the box and I thought they would take a while to break in and be comfortable but he wore them all day the day he got them and never complained about them. He wears them all the time and never wants to take them off even though its summer time. They have softened up nicely. Great rugged looking cowboy boot!

My son wears them to school almost every day. On the third day, he shared he felt a blister. Though he did not actually have a blister, the back of his ankle was a little red from wearing ankle socks. With higher socks, he has worn these boots to school all day, to integrated arts and P.E., to a wedding all evening, and he often wears them to play with his friends. He is 7, and he has gone through a number of boots within a few weeks. He gets lots of compliments on these boots, and the leather is holding up very well, and they are adorable. My husband and I both want a pair!

My son got these for Christmas so I can't comment on how well they hold up or not but I can tell you that 1) they are exactly as described 2) they are a really nice looking boot, and 3) they most definitely run large. My son's are so big that he can't wear them outside of the house but he loves them so much that he won't let me send them back for a smaller pair.

I bought these for my grandson who just turned 5 since he wears the almost daily! I used mine oil on them to protect them and so far, they are holding up very well! He loves them and they aren't stiff so he can do everything while wearing them. I will purchase again when he out grows these!

Great boots but WAY (I mean way) too big. Child normally wears a 2, bought a 2 because of all the reviews about them being large but also wanting to leave room to grow. What showed up was something that could almost fit my wife. We returned and purchased a size 1 and while they're still very large, they work and allow for room to grow. It's weird how such a great product could have such bad sizing.

This genuine leather boot is well made, sturdy, and cute as a button with the perfect patina. The strange thing, however, is my son who was obsessed with every raggedy pair of cheap boots we ever bought him-- refuses to wear these except when he goes 'to a farm'. *scratching my head*. I do think they run a tiny bit long in the foot but don't think I'd size down, rather I'll let him grow into them.
