Vibrant saturated color
The colors in this set add a vibrancy and saturation not seen in some other watercolors. Very high quality. I have tried all the top professional watercolors and these rank right up there. They are a little higher in cost but well worth it.

Green very dark almost brown.
Was a little disappointed with the olive green color. It was almost brown. But I think it will work when I mix it with other bright lighter greens.

Best paint I’ve used
I purchased the Marinescape set and an additional single color, Azo Yellow. I can get a wide variety of colors from mixing with these six paints. The packaging was loose in the box but it did not harm the products by not being cushioned with other packaging. The tubes opened easily and a few seemed lightly pressurized as the paint came out quickly but not so bad that it was hard to control. Prussian blue however was a little crazy coming out, maybe it had a little more paint in it than the others. When freshly out of the tubes and painting I noticed a swampy/earthy smell emitting from the paint. Maybe something with how the honey reacts to the pigment? It becomes less and less noticeable the more the paint firms up. I believe it to be a non issue as the paint performs beautifully and it’s exceptionally vibrant. The paintings I’ve done with these paints are eye catching and more lively in color compared to my previous paintings. I did the color chart in a quick, messy manner so I’m sure there are better examples online but I think this set plus a more primary yellow produces every color you could need. I’ve previously used Qor and Winsor and Newton (Cotman first, then artist grade). M Grahams are my new favorite and I can’t imagine going back to my other paints. High quality, transparent, vibrant color. I live in Tennessee where it is reasonably humid. The paint firms up well on an open palette but it’s sticky to the touch. It doesn’t flow around or melt out of place. It is also setting up in half pans just fine, though normally I’d wait 1-2 days for other watercolor to dry out in half pans I’m waiting 3-4 for these paints since I’ve heard others say they take longer. Good value for the quality you get.

Reliable and worth the small extra
I just finished a watercolor course that required we mix all our darks with the three primary colors. Boy! I sure missed having the time saver neutral tint. I usually purchase only Daniel Smith brand but I watched a student use both DS and M. Graham neutral tint. I had to agree that M. Graham was better in this case.

Creamy and not dull
M Gramham neutral tint is my most favorite neutral tint.

Beautiful color but….
This is a stunning color!!! However, it’s a wee bit like beach sand….. once you open the tube you’ll find bits of that stunning violet everywhere like beach sand. Or maybe I’m just messy! Anyway, this color is worth it!!!!

vibrant but sticky
This hansa yellow watercolour by M. Grahm creates a vibrant yellow and is also a wonderful mixing colour. I use it a lot in limited palette painting as the primary yellow (it's not really primary, but it's friendly with other colours). The only problem - and this is more not matching the paint to the painter than a product issue - is that I like to paint with dry watercolour pans. I buy the paints in tubes, pour them into pans, then let them dry.I forgot that this brand uses a lot of honey in their mix so that the paint doesn't dry completely. It's stiff enough to stay in the pan and I can use it in my urban sketching kit. But it stays moist enough that I can push it around with the brush and will get it on my hands if I touch it. It's a lot like working with freshly squeezed paint which I am not a fan. I forget this and grab too much paint on the brush and... well, it's a powerful colour and a little goes a long way. It's not a bad enough issue to stop using the paint. I love the colour so much that I'm not sure I want to switch brands when it runs out. If it ever runs out. This paint goes on forever! I've filled up my other most used pans three times already and hardly made a dent in this hansa yellow despite using it as a main mixing colour.
