Nice book for amateur bird lovers.
Fine paper quality, vibrant pictures and simple language, with a bit of humour here and there. Delightful reading. Nice addition to my collection.

A Must-Read for Budding Ornithologists!
No matter whether you're a seasoned environment enthusiast or a greenhorn on topics about Nature, whether you're a campaigned bird watcher or a novice just getting into the field, whether you're young or a well-grown adult, this book on Indian birds will make interesting reading. All the wisdom of Salim Ali is presented here in simple, enjoyable style with all the basic facts about the birds of India presented with a hint of humor all along. One glaring shortcoming though is the absence of peacock. The national bird of India and the most beautiful of birds and yet peacock finds no place in the book except as a small photograph towards the end of the book. Ignoring that lapse, this is a book that one can use for gifting others or collect for one's own self.
