Painless Performance 80173 Windshield Wiper Switch with Black Knob

Background:Installed in a 1977 IH Scout SSII using the factory connection format.PROS:- Price: Looked at "Scout" switches lowest cost was $50 including shipping (and it looked the same as this switch) the rest fell into the 200ish price range. So under $30 shipped is very attractive.- Pretty easy to install, took about 20 minutes mostly spent figuring out what plug went where. luckily Battery and AUX were marked so the remaining three plugs would not blow the switch or the circuit out messing with them.- Matched my factory setup, 5 spade plugs for 5 spade plugs.- My wipers were weak and slow and so were my sprayers, now everything is much more peppy.- Switch does not have the slop in it that the old factory one did, feels solid.- Aesthetically it matches the 1977 look of my vehicle well.- Switch unit is smaller than factory unit so fit was not a problem behind the panel.CONS:- Paperwork could stand to be better in illustrating what the various terminals are meant to do, did not tell me much about connections, so I wasted some time doing trial and error connections, though I was able to determine the battery connection and the aux connection before I ran juice through it so I was not in danger of blowing anything out.- In spite of trying all combinations I could not get both wiper speeds to work, so I first position runs the wipers second does nothing and third sprays window with no wiper movement, and push puts the wipers back to resting position.In summation, I am satisfied with the switch because it accomplishes what I wanted and gets the job done better than the old switch, however it is quirky in the way I have to use it. This could be in part to user error, or lack of included instruction, or simply as another reviewer mentioned extra components are required to get full functionality out of it on some vehicles, Overall though I would mark it as a "buy:

Good for money put in my old VW works great

This UTV was farm vehicle and old switches sucked - no more - worked out of the box and will see on longevity but for price you cant get them installed for the price of the switch

Worked great for doing a custom electric wiper conversion on my classic. Having the wash feature is a big plus.

Fits and works as it should, no issues, seems to be good quality.

The only problem with this switch is it overloads shuts off then comes back on. I inturn used two relays for low and high speed

Not much work to hook up

Nice comes marked defect from supplier…wait 3 weeks for a defect
