Classic Wooden Figure Eight Train Set (22 pcs)

Third set I have purchased in a month as gifts for the three 3 year olds in my life. My favorite go to first train set or as an add on pack. The main reason is the bridge is easy for little ones to put together and sturdy and the figure 8 is much more interesting than a circle ( it can be made into a circle as well). This type of bridge was my kids favorite over 25 years ago and even when they got older and had more complex parts, this bride was always included in their set ups. The price point is perfect, quality is great, the packaging efficient. Let Amazon ship it to your destination, I made the mistake of having it shipped to my house and then carried three sets on the airplane, one set doesn't weigh much, but start putting three in your carry on....

We purchased a used train table and trains, but no tracks. These were a perfect match! Our 1 year old especially likes the bridge/ramps, and they continue to be quite durable despite him throwing the pieces sometimes. I have not noticed any rough edges. The neutral color of the wood looks great, and I like that it is bare wood and not painted, as we all know that would have chips eventually. Very satisfied with our purchase!

I ordered this for my 17month old grandson and he loves it even more than I anticipated. The size proportions for a young child’s hand are perfect, it is sturdy and durable because it’s made of wood not cheap plastic, and it’s easy for him to manage putting the train on the tracks. He is able to put the track together with ease also and he’s able to push the train around the figure eight. It is nice that this set doesn’t use batteries and that it’s more interactive with a child (his parents too). We like that the set is expandable so that there are other occasions we can buy parts for him. The expansion parts contribute to the learning and teaching what a train does and allows his creative side to shine through. As a mode of transportation today’s kids don’t have much exposure to trains and we think it’s important to keep them alive in children. I would highly recommend this for both boys and girls.

My grandson absolutely loves this train set. He has control of the train on the track and uses his imagination. A little pricey but the quality is good and worth the investment. Keeps my grandson busy, especially when it's hooked up to another set. Delivery on time. Packaged good.

This set was perfectly priced and worked excellent for my intended use! My 2 year old daughter has the Thomas & Friends Wooden Railway Oval Track Set along with a few engines. She really likes bridges so I wanted to find a sturdy and easy to use one that she could add to her set. That's exactly what this bridge is! We currently have it set up in the figure 8 set-up with the bridge in the middle (as the instruction pamphlet shows). Due to complaints/other reviews, I did however initially set it up with some of the Thomas & Friends tracks to check the compatibility and they fit/work just fine together! Both of the trains that it came with along with all of our Thomas & Friends engines fit under the middle tunnel (which is where the track goes) of the bridge. The bridge as I said is sturdy and easy; it is built right into the tracks, you don't have to worry about any risers to support the ascending/descending pieces and thus don't have to worry about the bridge being knocked over. My only complaint would be about the trains that came with the set and some minor derailment issues. While the trains that come with this do connect to the Thomas & Friends engines they don't connect very strongly to them and seem to disconnect when "zooming" over the bridge. They do seem to stay together though if is just the two of them. They also do seem to derail when "zooming" over the bridge whether they are alone or linked together. If the Thomas & Friends engines are left alone they don't seem to experience derailment when going down the bridge but if you are trying to do more than one engine at once, they do tend to derail when pushed down the bridge. If you are just chugging two or three of them along smoothly derailment doesn't usually occur. I haven't noticed derailment on any other part of the tracks. Overall this is a great purchase for the money! It is much more reasonably priced than something similar from the Thomas & Friends Wooden Railway (yet it is compatible with it). I would absolutely buy it again and recommend it to others! My actual rating would be 4.5

We got this for my 2-year-old train-loving daughter last Christmas, and it's become her favorite toy. The rails are sturdy - much sturdier than the plastic sets - and easy for little hands to manipulate. It's the perfect introduction set, as it's a simple design, but it's just enough track to cover a coffee table and fit several trains at once. (And there are enough rails to make a few different configurations if your little one tires of the figure-8 setup.) The wooden rails themselves are a standard size, so all the Thomas & Friends wooden track accessories and trains she had fit perfectly. (We've since added Toby's Windmill and the Track Signal to the set.) In fact, the only complaint I have is that the little red train and caboose that come with the set don't stay on the rails very well. They derail just about every time my daughter sends them down the bridge, but the Thomas trains seem to have larger wheels that help keep them on track. Regardless, you won't find a better starter set for a child who has an interest in trains - it's just the right size and price, and it's flexible enough that if your child really enjoys it, you can always buy new items/rails to expand it. I highly recommend it for any train-loving toddler.

As it arrived yesterday I can't say enithing about durability, but fit to our brio and IKEA collection perfectly. It is better crafted as IKEA and as nice as Brio.. We love it and will order more for sure.
