A must read book to understand the Chinese mind & the ancient stratagems thats their guiding light. The writer explains lucidly how Chinese have been successful in befooling the Americans that they are moving towards democracy. While, making Americans dole every possible help to their own detriment in long run. They have always been working to outpace & outpost the hegemon USA without letting them know that they are constantly scheming behind their back.

Very detailed account of China’s grand’s strategy. Could have mentioned role of India and how US can leverage India’s position in Asia to counter China’s growing importance

The book reminded me of the adage, 'Uneasy lies the head that wears the crown'. The book gives us the American viewpoint on China's rise in the last few decades and the unease in America with that. The author has lots of inside knowledge about China. Basically he argues that Chinese culture is such that China will use any means even unethical ones to become the future hegemon of the world. Apparently Chinese culture allows the use of deception even in peace time. A perusal of the book certainly gives the reader an increased understanding of Chinese foreign policy. I recommend this book for readers who are interested in understanding Chinese behavior. The only caveat is that since the author is a citizen of the current global hegemon the reader should be alert about any bias.

Must read The book brings to light how china has decieved America till now and how it ll surpass the lone present day superpower in the similar manner. Very well articulated with various examples

Mr Micheal has wonderfully laid out the marathon strategy of China. Having read little bit about China I can say that his arguments have merit. A few new terms this books talks about which are gen not used like the concept of Shi, warring states strategy etc are worth researching further to demystify the dragon better. Overall a great book and a must read for Chinese enthusiasts.

Good read for everyone who is keen to know about world geopolitics and Chinese agenda. I gave 4 star because few of the topics were stretched which I feel was not necessary. But overall a really good book.
