I needed a scale that was portable and accurate for food portions. This fit my budget and fit my needs. I can also weigh small postage and letters under 2 lbs too all in 0.1 gram increments. It's easy to use, calibrate and is very functional. It runs on 2 AAA batteries which are included. The backlight display is nice and the scale is so easy to operate. I wished there was a conversion chart included or on the inside of the lid. But then again, that is easy enough to Google and keep handy. I have one on my iPhone when I need to do a quick conversion. My scale came in silver, not black as shown. Still very very nice and portable. Perfect for those of us watching our weight and trying our best to keep an eye on portions. Very nice little scale that can easily fit in a purse, gym bag or whatever.

Update: I've dropped it, flooded it with fluids and it still works and it's still accurate. Just checked it with my standard calibration weight. The one thing I haven't done is put a weight that's too heavy on it. It's hard to do with such a small scale. 5 stars for 5 years! End update. Hey, this will weigh up to 1 kilo (or 2.2 lbs) which is good enough for most kitchen applications. The price was just so good! The jump to scales that could handle higher weights wasn't worth it. I got the 500 gm calibration weight and felt foolish ordering it because the scale was right on the money. The tare is awesome! Not every kitchen scale has this and it's a terrible pain subtracting the weight of the container from the total. Just be aware this scale has a tiny tiny footprint - 3.9 x 5.8 x 1 inches - it fits in your pocket. Not so good for large (and yet light) items. It's best for measuring spices, a cup of flour or sugar. This scale is great for measuring out small quantities very accurately. For example, they sold me tetracycline in packages for a 20 gallon tank. Well, guess what, I have a 3/4 gallon tank. Good way to kill my ailing fish trying to eyeball 1/20 minus 1/4 of assorted heap sizes. Also good for measuring out tea and getting a consistent cup.

Packaging: Comes in a nicely packaged box large enough to fit the product protected by bubble wrap and a manual. The product though, is shipped in a bubble wrap mailer. Arrived perfectly. I use the gram scale to weigh postage, and I must say that it does the job very easily. The readout is clear and very responsive. There is little to no lag in the response time on the readout making for fast and easy process if you are looking to do multiple measures in a short amount of time. This scale comes with very easy instructions and even easier to actually use. You won't be finding yourself wondering how this gram scale works. It is quite intuitive! The labeling on the gram scale is clear, with good English, none of that garbled Chinese/English mixed instructions. If you are weighing postage, the only thing I would warn you about is that you are going to have to turn the letter askew in order to see the blue readout nicely. But for smaller items this gram scale is perfect in its compactness and ease of use. I really don't know what else to say other than if you need an affordable and compact measuring device, get this one. This one is easy to read and store wherever you need it. That could be anywhere of limited space where you can pack this into, a full backpack even. Heck, slip it into your pocket and you will forget its their. If you lay it in your hand length-wise, it will reach from your palm to the edge of your fingers. It uses three easy buttons. Nothing complicated. The number read-out is responsive and real time. The metal tray is a brushed metal finish and looks great. The blue back light is great in the glare of day and at night when it gets a little dark. It's a Digital pocket scale that can actually fit in your pocket, and has held up to constant use. I would recommend this product for the average and daily user.

nice little scale, not perfect but close enough, unless you are looking for exact perfection then this might not be for you, but + or - a few tenths of milligram than this will do just fine. Some people will be picky, but what I use it for it does just fine. sometimes adjust + or - to original weight, but nothing crazy or to far off. Usually dead on to original measurement. may adjust = or - a tenth but usually gets back to original after a few seconds. I use to measure with confidence that it gets me within decent measurements. Like i said if you are trying to get down to tenths or hundreds then maybe another scale may be required, for regular smoke this works just fine. Will adjust properly if you are light or heavy in weight. no complaints, great pocket scale, AAA batteries so easy to replace if needed, needs a weight to be calibrated properly, but works just fine out of box, nickle measurement showed properly on first try and maintains true to original. so no complaints. I would definitely buy again without hesitation. now if you are trying to do science measurements then maybe not for you, but everyday regular use, just fine. no complaints, works fine every time, light is bright, numbers are large. buy with confidence it will meet your needs on a daily or regular basis. if you are really picky, then look elsewhere. Price is fair. built in cover works well. no issues, instruction are built into lid if you need to make adjustment, haven't had the need, so happy with purchase.

Came quick and very accurate for measuring bullion!

This is a replacement for one I damaged (a different brand) by accidentally leaning on the scale, damaging the load cell. Word to the wise - close it up when not in use! At our model train club we require a minimum weight for freight cars, and this scale makes it easy to determine if additional weight is needed. I'm normally working in the area of 0 to 10 ounces, so 1000 grams (about 2 pounds or 32 ounces) is really overkill, but makes the scale useful for other tasks. Unit worked perfectly right out of the box. I got a set of weights at the same time that were offered by Amazon, to calibrate the unit. It was dead on as received. For the kind of uses I have, it would be silly to spend $40 or $50 to get a pocket scale when this unit Is available. I texted both units and both are perfectly calibrated as received. Use it on a flat surface so that the hinged lid does not interfere with the item being weighed. Other than that, I love the units and look forward to their having a long life.

I purchased this scale to weigh salts for beer brewing. So far, it has exceeded my expectations. The scale is accurate, keeps it's calibration (I got the 500gram calibration weight), and repeatable. I have checked the calibration several times over the year plus I have owned it, it has not needed re-calibration yet. The buttons and back-lit LED display are logically laid out and work well. For $9, this scale is a steal, I am very happy with it. ** NOTE ** Amazon keeps trying to bundle this scale with 100gram calibration weights. This scale (1000gram scale) requires the 500gram calibration weights. Pros: - Accurate (I weighed and reweighed a number of items, weight was always consistent and accurate) - Sensitive, Breathing over scale will cause weight to change. Put scale on hard heavy surface (granite counter-top is ideal) and avoid air currents if you are having problems with weight fluctuating. - Keeps calibration over long periods of time - Auto shutoff feature is nice Cons: - Case/lid is cheap plastic. Given the price point, I don't consider this to be a problem but it deserves mention - Removable weighing surface would be nice for cleaning purposes - Batteries unit came with where really cheap and only lasted 15-20 minutes of use

I ordered the 500g x 0.01g size, with 2 digits of precision, shown in the picture and in the title. However, Amazon is sending out a lower precision model instead, 500g x 0.1g, with one digit of precision. There is a sticker on the box saying "500g X 0.01g", which suggests the seller or Amazon warehouse is mislabeling lower-precision units and shipping them as the higher-precision model. Therefore, if you return for exchange, you will be shipped back the same wrong item again. The scale itself is nice, has a stable display without measurement drift, as far as I can tell. It seems to need a gram of weight before it registers anything, but I suppose if I need to weigh something less than a gram, I'd just put a heavier object on the scale first, and then the small object on top, and calculate the difference. It doesn't work if you zero the scale with the heavier object first.

Good compact size, easy to operate and pretty precise (havent verified the accuracy). Its got a handy tare feature where you can place any container and press tare(set it to 0) then when you add things it will just show you the weight of the stuff you added..handy when your mixing resins or chemicals.

Bought this to weigh items for snailmail. Works very well. Very simple and neat. Stays in our stationery drawer. Folds up neatly and is easily transported in jacket pocket. So far batteries have lasted OK.

I really like this scale. I have bought many different models over the years to manage my daughter's very strict medical diet and I feel like this is the best portable scale I've owned. The case feels quite sturdy and stays in place (on many other scales the lid came off within a few days or weeks of use). Small size but not so much to be impractical. Good readibility
