Delighted with this great Camera with great features. Slim, fun and easy to use.
I purchased this Camera for myself after Christmas. I had been on the look out for a new one (preferably Blue) for sometime. My a member of my Girlfriends Family got this one for Christmas and mentioned one of it's great features. I researched the camera and decided to make the purchase. Brilliant shade of Blue, (my favorite colour) This Camera had a ton of features and shooting modes. My last Camera was 5 years old that I bought for college work and was a pretty basic camera in comparison. This camera had so much more to offer. Firstly it looked great and has a ton of great features. I loved how easy it is to switch between automatic/ general picture taking mode and scene mode that takes pictures in creative fun modes. You simply flick the little switch to get between general and creative mode. One in the creative mode there is a lot of different modes to take photos in that you simply toggle through with ease on the camera. My favorites of these are the Colour Accent, which takes a photo in black and white a keeps the selected colour. I don't have the option to show it here but it is a great effect. Colour switch swaps one colour with another, it works well. Other favorite effects were the Posterized effect, Vivid, and Toy camera effect which darken the edges of the frame to create a distinctive feel. It is a real benefit how easy to go between the creative mode and auto mode. The same goes for video recording as this camera has its own dedicated button to go instantly to video recording mode. Something my previous camera did not have so you really appreciate it here. This is just how modern this camera is as previously I had to turn the dial on my old camera to get to other modes. But this camera has a more direct method that also lets you video record in any of the creative modes allowing you to record videos in super vivid, monochrome of whichever you like. Another great feature is the timer, all cameras have a self timer mode for picture taking, this camera does too but also a 3 smart shutter modes: Smile mode, automatically takes picture when smile is detected, Wink Shutter to have the picture taken when someone winks to tell camera to take the picture and New face timer that counts down when new face enters the scene. I've taken a lot of family photos recently and one thing I haven't done so far is to fix red eye on computer afterwards. My previous camera had a red eye flash mode which had two flashes, one to clear the red eye about to be taken and the second flash takes the picture. This didn't always work and people moved after the first flash. This camera does not suffer with that problem as it has a built in red lamp to clear red eye, it is a pretty standard feature of modern cameras. You can also crop pictures in camera. I was very happy with this camera and I really enjoy it. The camera battery is not charged in the camera and instead the battery is placed in a charger. The battery is small and this method of charging allows the camera to be smaller. The battery is charged in the battery pack with a short lead going to the power source. I did wish that battery pack plugged straight in to a power source but that was my only minor gripe and it would be one less lead when I'm travelling. It means too that you can have spare battery charging externally. I am extremely happy with this camera and the creative modes features. I would highly recommend this camera and its fun and easy to use. Check out my Blog http://supercomicsmovieblog.blogspot.ie/

Handy little camera
This has been a great camera - pocket sized and not too heavy, but not so small that my fingers are in the way of the lens! I have found it easy to use and the pictures are very good. The battery has a good life.

Superb camera, light and easy to use with great quality pictures
Great pictures, super easy to use and takes lovely pics and videos. Boots up fast and quiet in operation. I have had previous Canon IXUS models over the years and this is the best. The body is not heavyweight metal that dents and is modern and lightweight and good to hold in the hand. I have a 64gb SD card in it, so it will basically last until I get my new one in a few years time. A really good memory-grabber and highly recommended.

Cheap but not perfect
It is a cheap camera, nice design, very easy to use but the colours of the pictures are not very lively. It seems that the have too much light.

No Optical View Finder
I bought this Camera to replace an IXUS 40 which had developed a faulty function switch(still-movie-view) but still took good pictures. The IXUS 132 does not have an optical view finder which was useful on the IXUS 40 in bright daylight when the screen was difficult to see. The 132 does not have the same solid feel to it but at least the slide function switch has been replaced. The 132 is easy to use and takes good pictures. The Optical zoom is good although there may be just to many variables to play with for a lay person. The battery also requires charging more often than the IXUS 40. Overall the Canon IXUS 132 is great value for the money.

The best
Still the best camera of its capability and price. I bought one for my wife, and a year later, one for my daughter, and they have no problems using them. Good automatic camera, and plenty of manual controls. Quality is almost as good as my DSLR with its standard lens, which is a bit embarrassing!

Great Product
Great product for the price.Small and handy, multi-functional, compact and neat. Easy to use, gives a lot of pleasure. A little slippery if trying to hold this camera and others in the same hand, be aware of this risk.

Canon is a good brand .... but be careful what is in the box with this camera ... Canon have got it wrong !!
I bought this camera for my partner after she broke her Olympus camera beyond repair ,,,, I am an advocate of Canon and have an EOS 350D that has given me wonderful service and some fantastic pictures ... my daughter has an EOS 600D with the same results ... the camera arrived promptly via Amazon and at a good price ..... opening the box I wondered how I connected to our pc/laptop without a cable .... you look at the specification on the Canon website and they refer to the interface with the computer as a mini USB connection cable but they don't say that the cable is not included !! .... I rang Canon UK support .... ended up in the far east .... where I was advised that Canon no longer supplied the cables and that I would have to buy one from a third party to connect my new camera to our computer/laptop !! .... so I have a new digital camera that I cannot connect to the computer and no software provided !! ..... NOT VERY GOOD CANON .... fortunately I have a connection cable that works from my EOS !! ..... the Camera is good, menu very easy to use and the pictures are great .... these positive comments are despite the poor service from Canon through their UK (?) support who took my email address and mobile number and promised to contact me in respect of complaint that the computer connection cable was not included and that their website on the product was not clear about this .... I have heard nothing !!
