Powermax Size 312 Hearing Aid Batteries, 60 Count Long-Lasting Battery Pack, Brown Long Tab for Easy Change

Hearing aid battery so far lasting 1 week wearing 13-16 hours...hope they last longer. My other batteries I've had a free supply from my audiologist for 6 years so never paid attention to battery life. Dang batteries are expensive so as a price point I decided on these packaged in a total of sixty. Agree with others about being hard to get out; however this is the complaint of others across the board on all brands. The government forced all makers to make batteries child safe. Good ole government regulations. My grandparents left batteries out not a single grandchild touched them, my grandchildren don't plunder; but I guess there is a need for caution. Let's put bumper guards on everything! I just cut the packet open and put them into my hearing aid case. No child under 15 now in my household. I wonder if other batteries have this regulation, like watch batteries and AAA batteries which could be swallowed by child or pet; probably not

I taught my kids to not touch or play with things that are NOT theirs… my grandbabies and great grand babies are taught the same. I am an adult, a RESPONSIBLE adult I keep dangerous things out of children’s reach. It’s pretty simple really… But, if the law must babysit our children, I get it… I guess, HOWEVER, what about the ELDERLY folks over say 70, some can manage most cannot remove these batteries from the packaging… Same issue, same reason evolved with our medicine, and a reasonable answer was developed whereby children were safe and we could still take our medication 🙄🙄 These battery manufacturers don’t want to retool to make it happen. Batteries have to be kept separate, so be it, but they can be marketed in pop-out packs like pills, Which are “Child safe” for any child young enough to not know better than to swallow a battery! And allow adult parents the freedom to allow their children to run wild and unattended. So stand up… voice your opinion, buy rechargeable products and put these greedy battery manufacturers out of business or force them to help the elderly!! By the way, these are good long lasting batteries!

I usually buy the Amazon Basics batteries, but they've been out of stock for a while, so these were the next best thing in terms of price and reviews. I should have listened to the reviews that said the packaging was horrible, but I thought - how bad could it really be? The answer is very, very bad. As the mom of a toddler, I understand the importance of keeping these kinds of batteries out of reach of children. I know how dangerous it can be if a child swallows one. However, child resistant packaging should not mean the packaging is nearly impossible to open. You can see in my photos that the packaging requires scissors to cut around the edge to free the battery. It is not an easy cut. I am 33 years old and my hands work just fine, yet cutting out the batteries was obnoxiously difficult. Furthermore, I'm often changing out my hearing aid batteries on the go. I don't want to store a pair of scissors in my purse to cut out a battery every time I need a change. That's absurd. And, arguably, LESS safe for my toddler if he rifles through my purse and finds a pair of scissors in there! Powermax needs to go back to the drawing board with this product and find a way to have child-resistant packaging that can still allow for on the go battery changes that don't leave me with cramping hands after. I ended up spending a good 15-20 minutes cutting all the batteries out of this packaging and put them into a childproof medicine bottle. It's not the best solution by any means, and I'm not sure if this will have a negative impact on the battery life, but it's the only reasonable option. I'm going to look into finding more secure childproof containers that I can use for storing these batteries, particularly smaller ones that I can store in my purse for on the go. There's probably a special irony that the child resistant packaging actually makes this product less safe, because I'm sure I'm not the only one who had to find a more reasonable workaround. This packaging certainly gives me extra incentive to go for a rechargeable hearing aid when I'm due for a new one, because I am not willing to deal with this packaging headache long term. In the meantime, I hope other brands have more sensible packaging.

The PowerMax batteries are much easier to remove from the packaging than the PowerOne. Just cut along the line on the package (actually a little further from the edge), then rotate the batteries so one extends slightly below the cut, and cut the edge of the capsule and easily dump it out. I will buy these again. The PowerOne batteries are very tough to remove. After three weeks: I may return these batteries because they work very erratically. The Power One batteries were very good, but the new packaging is VERY hard to open. These Power Max batteries are poor quality

One reads SO many complaints about the new packaging safety (child-proof) requirements. People, just get a grip! These batteries are in a rotary blister pack like in the olden days, but more securely closed in the new type of pack, and you get one out in a different way. No longer via a little cardboard door that you open. Here is what you do now: Picture the dial as a clock. Take scissors and cut straight across from "5 o'clock" to "7 o'clock." You have cut through the bottom of the plastic. Now, when you rotate the dial, a battery drops out of the opening you made, right into your hand. You do not have to make more cuts to remove other batteries. Just rotate the dial a little to use the cut you made. (If your hand is not strong enough to make even that one cut, ask someone else to do that for you, just that one time.). Hope that helps all the commenters who sound so frustrated and annoyed.

These hearing aid batteries are old stock, imo. They are No. 312’s from Walmart. Installed Saturday morning, by Monday morning they were dead! Costco batteries typically last me 4-5 days sometimes longer. Update: Batteries are lasting 4-6 days on average now. Not sure what or the first two pairs did not last as long. My big gripe is the “child proof” packaging is miserable! Users have cut the plastic packaging to get the batteries out. Even Costco #312 batteries are coming this way.

It seems all batteries now are in childproof packing and are also very difficult to remove when needed. Most people are older who need aids and really have less strength in their hands. We should have an option to buy NON childproof packaging like pill bottles.

Be careful opening the box, many batteries were loose inside the box!

Not recommended at all—very difficult to open. You’d need to carry a pair of scissors with you at all times.
